Which charges via a power grid that runs at least partially on...oil.I'm thinking on becoming soy and getting an e-scooter.

That cheered me up.Imagine not owning a horse
On top of that rents are through the roof, people were already going homeless in my neck of the woods before the invasion. Food and Gas becoming unaffordable is a disaster.NIGGER, I'M SPENDING TOO MUCH MONEY ON GAS.
Dude like just stop being poor, you know? If you can't afford to drop like 30-100k on a new car what are you even doing? We don't even need trucks. Food comes from the store not trucks, duh. Seriously though fuck these rich assholes telling people to just go buy a new car. I hope it becomes the modern "let them eat cake"."Just buy an electric car!" is such an asinine argument to make towards people struggling to afford gasoline. If gas stations are becoming too expensive for them, what the hell makes politicians think they can afford to drop at least $30,000 on an electric car? That argument isn't even applicable for truck drivers, as electric trucks are still being developed (not to mention how inefficient they'd be compared to gasoline trucks, or the logistics of having to create thousands of charging stations across the country). We're slowly bleeding out thanks to supply lines being disrupted, trying to force the issue on truck drivers is only going to fuck us even harder.
All this feel-good pie in the sky bullshit has no place in our current reality, and the sooner we ignore environmentalists the better.
not to mention the power grid in America isn't setup for that. Which, you know, still runs on gas/oil. Hell, Commiefornia can't even support people running their ACs in the summer. How the fuck will they handle everyone charging their cars at night. That argument isn't even applicable for truck drivers, as electric trucks are still being developed (not to mention how inefficient they'd be compared to gasoline trucks, or the logistics of having to create thousands of charging stations across the country).
They don't think these things through enough, all they see is "Ooh, clean energy!" without thinking of the practicality.not to mention the power grid in America isn't setup for that. It's the latter. Making it impossible for the average person to drive a car will lower carbon emissions, after all. They don't think these things through enough, all they see is "Ooh, clean energy!" without thinking of the practicality.
Or they do know, and are pushing this just to further fuck over us "plebs" out of spite.
Indeed, this sums it up pretty well actually, Trump is a dick, Putin is the asshole and the left are pussies who prevented Trump from fucking the asshole that was Putin and now we're all covered in shit.
Is that really a boomer vs youth thing because I've had nuclear shilled to me 15 years ago in school. People who know that modern nuclear is safe should be in their 30s/40s now. Environmentalists in general just hate nuclear, not just old people.Nuclear would solve all this. But we can never have that conversation because the boomers in charge still have nightmares about 3 Mile Island and Chernobol. Even though nuclear plants in the modern age are way more safer and use different fuel than those plants did.
The entire point for the pushing towards widespread electric car usage is because E-cars have terrible range. Unlike a gas car which can be refilled with a jerry can, you NEED a charging port to even get anywhere. If you are out in the country and you don't have a charging port, you are royally fucked."Just buy an electric car!" is such an asinine argument to make towards people struggling to afford gasoline. Environmental is the easy to understand barrier towards nuclear power, but even more important to what's preventing more nuclear power plants from being built is the financial barrier towards building one. Nuclear power plants are a lot cheaper than other energy sources over their entire lifespan, but as it turns out that's not what people are interested in because that lifespan is so long. What people are interested in is the point that the investment into the facility breaks even, which is much longer for nuclear power because it collects so much interest on the huge initial investment. As it is, nobody wants to wait 40 years for their investment into nuclear to turn them a profit when a dozen fossil fuel powered plants can do it in less than 10.not to mention the power grid in America isn't setup for that. Which, you know, still runs on gas/oil. Hell, Commiefornia can't even support people running their ACs in the summer. How the fuck will they handle everyone charging their cars at night.
