I don't understand how they haven't done a Master Chief Collection style rerelease for these games yet. It seems like a nobrainer.
I have so many good memories of playing the trilogy in couch co-op and I'd love to finally be able to play it on PC with other friends. Even though I know it will only be half as fun as back in the day.

I remember the series' creator saying that piracy of the first game on PC is why they refuse to port the rest of the series to PC. I think they don't realize how much they've screwed themselves out of a lot more money by not releasing (good!) PC ports.

You can always trust Cliffy B to say retarded shit. I don't think it's really in their hands anymore though, if it ever was. Microsoft owns it all and with Gears games since 4 they've seemingly changed their minds on PC. They just refuse to port the older ones.

TFW you just emulate gears 2 and 3 on xenia and dont need to give a shit about another current year cashgrab "collection" that's just as butchered as the MCC with its game balance completely ruined too. Because current year devs dont care about the little details like a lancer chainsaw being less effective than just RNG instagibbing everything with a gnasher shotgun from across the map.

When the lore reason for the lancer's chainsaw even existing was because bullets had a harder time penetrating the locusts thick hide than just cleaving them in half with a chainsaw.

If a Gears collection comes to PlayStation, that's proof that MS is weaning out of the console market. Forza Horizon 5 is already launching on PS5 soon; then Halo would be the only MS exclusive that have. What would be the point of an Xbox if a PS5 or PC could have the same games and MORE?

I feel the Gears franchise could be salvaged unlike Halo if this origin story approach is anything to go by. What would kill it would be the writing and the monetization clashing with the gritty, bro-dude melancholy drama that the series is renowned for.

Keep all of the multiplayer. The majority of people play games like Gears, COD, etc. for their multiplayer components so to suggest removing the multiplayer (or even the majority of multiplayer features that have been there for almost 20 years at this point) from them is absurd. Even Gears 5, which many people talk shit about, is still active online nearly five years later. It's not like you're necessarily going to get a better single player experience if they removed the main feature that most people actually play the games for.

We get it, you personally don't like multiplayer games. It doesn't change the fact that millions of people do and it's how developers can continue making money from the games for years. Just play the single player and skip the multiplayer if having a multiplayer option in a multiplayer-focused series somehow bothers you that much.

For Gears E-Day, I hope the Seriously... style of achievement does not return. Just massive grinds to pad out gameplay.

Replaying Gears of War 1 made me realize how slower the first game is compared to its sequels. A slower, heavier movement system would definitely give weight to the prequel.
