No, there were literally zero expectations for HoloEN. Hell, I was one of the guys cautiously optimistic but ready for a complete shitshow, expecting a Twitter SJW type of femcel. Instead they were so successful Gura blew past Korone and Fubuki out of fucking nowhere and hit a million subs in just a month and a half. There were people reminiscing earlier during the date stream on hlgg about how Mori’s silly debut and autistic demeanor sold them on HoloEN as a whole. And maybe in addition to that as part of a pretty big company. There were pretty big expectations on them from the beginning. And I remember Kiara being a bit afraid because she believed herself to have no special talents like the other girls. But she for me she's the glue holding everyone together and bridging the gap to the JP side of things.
I’m pretty sure Cover was expecting HoloStars level of subscribers, maybe HoloID at best. The girls themselves have admitted on stream that this level of success is far beyond what they expected; Mori breaking down during her first akasupa spam makes for funny content, but its also her trying to deal with imposter syndrome — that feeling of not really deserving your lot in life (They’ve talked about it with each other during collabs, I think)
