I don't watch vtubers, they're not my thing.

That being said, what's the appeal of English vtubers? I thought vtubers were for weebs, and my recommendations are spammed by "vtuber forgot to turn off her stream" or "vtuber shows her weight BY MISTAKE" kinda shit. Please make it stop.
 
I don't know if this is how it was pre-gen 5 but I find it interesting that all of the new girls have animation tests right there on the timeline. Getting out in front of leaks, I guess.

People who like video games or jap music who have dipped their toe into anime, I'd bet. For me, the jap vtubers are better because I can't understand what the fuck they're saying so the critical part of my brain turns off and it's just Anime Girl + Streaming Game = cute background noise. In English, man it's more engaging obviously, but it can be hard to watch.

If I want to hear a Vtuber speak English I'll watch the Indonesians, or the Chinese unicorn. And Okayu's ASMR is amazing background noise until she ends it by doing the super chat thank yous. She should really chop her stream there and restart it to do the thank yous so they're two different videos.

Plus there's just something special about seeing a Japanese vtuber react to something like, "Are you winning, son?". Or my favorite, when Subaru starts reading English comments on translated clips of her.

Please no, we have Vtubers but the Spanish drama scene would fill a entire forum by how awful it is, there was a recent case of one popular Vtuber bullying another just because their character looks alike , she claimed that the character was stolen when in reality was available for free on the Steam workshop , the thing was so bad that the kid was practically crying on stream and a awful autistic war ensued

So no, is a terrible terrible idea

Btw i did not noticed but the Phoenix was designed by Huke, Cover really went beyond to get good stuff this time

Edit: the 5th generation are amused to the fact that they already have kouhais

Honestly, I feel that Coco was lightning in a bottle, and Cover kinda jumped the gun into doing this. I don't doubt that they probably had this planned for some time, but I guess between the overseas audience boom and COVID-19 keeping everyone inside, things may have been rushed. Like damn, they just debuted 5th Generation a few weeks ago.

Yes and No, coco showed that there is a huge market for english speaking vtubers (good ones), Civia was apparently also popular but she was relegated to bilili, they begun some time ago to test the waters with hololive indonesia, i remember in a stream with Marine, Coco and Kanata that Coco told them that almost all her viewers are from overseas and Marine saying that she only has to speak english sometimes for her overseas viewers to appear (a meme that Korone cemented with her "hey guys")Coco was also boosted by her appearing on Hololive reddit, Hololive EN was not rushed on purposes, Cover is trying very hard to fill the Aloe fiasco that is why they also brought Civia to Youtube and throwed Holomyth so fast, in typical banana republic fashion "just throw things so fast to make people forget you screwed it up"

In other news, 5th generation got their Member system activated and the most notable one is Polka having a emoticon of YAGOO, that sealed the deal for some people

Edit: i cant still get behind the phoenix design, she was designed by Huke that much is confirmed but she doesn't look at all as his style in FGO or Steins;gate, and Ninomae design i checked that was in fact made by the guy that made Abby on FGO to the point that some cinics state that she was probably a prototype design of her that was canned by Kuroboshi

I was honestly pretty surprised she wasn't poached for HoloEN or even NijiEN. She's very likable and high-energy, and the bilingual thing seems like exactly what the HoloEN should be aiming for.

Hopefully the 5 girls that ARE debuting chill out.

HoloEN had started their interview stage during June when she debut on February, was fairly popular in the vtuber scene, and GYARI doesn't seem like a horrible place to work so it is understandable why she didn't offer herself up.
