General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Watching Irys sorta kinda semi-figuring some things out while running around and dying from falling 4 feet several times in a row was painful but still comfy. Granted I'm not a minecraft player or anything so most my knowledge is from autists rambling or just watching it get played. I did enjoy the bit between her and Calli about who gets the throne of "Worst Minecraft player." Seeing the two more or less struggle to do basically anything as Irys constantly died and lost all the stuff she was given/dug up was fairly amusing. Calli seemed to enjoy just hanging out and goofin with her for a bit. I imagine Calli would have rolled out if she was fully disinterested in touching minecraft since Ame disappeared fast enough. Also due to how she is, probably hesitated to want to do much teaching since she generally announces how absolutely inept she feels at any of it.

Irys did apparently get a manager warning though, and it does seem like it was for popping up on the wrong server. I forget why exactly that's some sort of issue, but by any metric I can think of that sounds pretty fuckin stupid since it was an accident. Even if she kind of hung around exploring a bit trying to do some learning. it's not like she randomly started voice chatting with JP. Even if she did for some reason she speaks Japanese anyway so wouldn't think she's at risk of saying anything stupid. Based on how well she played some voice instruction would have been a Godsend lol. Hell Polka was probably having a giggle over Irys meandering around like a lost child, despite playing defender for her a bit.
Actually if it really was such a huge issue, could they just not have made JP inaccessible for her somehow?

You can think the collab ban is stupid or not, but she had to know she was pushing the line wondering around the JP server.

Well I won't start some management is shit tardfit over it, they're doing their job and you're not wrong. It just seems like such a goofy line in the sand. Though I guess from what she said it was still just a warning and not a bonk. So with that said it was a bit of a tist ramble on my part.

Went back and watched that. Just to expand a bit, because I found it to be an especially fun and creative stream: According to the LiveTLs (so, grain of salt), Subaru heard about Marine's voice issue and came up with this idea for an off-collab, which is basically the two of them trying to do various "challenges" while keeping under a certain decibel level (they had a meter and everything). Challenges included things like sneezing quietly, playing an ocarina, tickling each other, beyblading (???), and a game of Smash Bros. I love the duck.

For me, the most fun part of IRyS's minecraft debut was, obviously, that she somehow accidentally got into the JP server. The second-most fun part was watching all the minecraft spergs in chat absolutely losing their shit over how bad she was, while she just wandered around with her head in the clouds, having a blast.

As far as I can figure, the only reason she would get into any kind of trouble is that the collab ban with JP is still in effect, not that you could call it much of a collab.
So she fucked up, what are they gonna do about it? Suspend her from streaming for a few days? Slowing her first-month growth would only shoot themselves in the foot as well. But it wouldn't be a JP company if the managers didn't have at least a little stick up their asses. Therefore, a warning.

And yes, the JP server almost certainly has a proper whitelist so you literally can't join without being pre-approved.

Shibuya HAL has just finished announcing the teams for his next APEX Tournament (V-Saikyo Season 3).

Lots of familiar names you'd expect, but one team stands out: Astel, Roboco, and Choco-sen will be on the same team. A pretty big deal for the people who want to see Holostars and Hololive interact more.

Apparently, it was Roboco and Choco who DM'ed him on Twitter asking if they could be part of his team. It explains the huge grind they've both been on in recent streams to reach a decent Rank.

Edit: For people who may be interested in other notable entries into the tournament.

• Amatsuka Uto is a Team Captain, she is playing with Yuuki Chihiro of Nijisanji.
• Izuru, Rikka, and Tenma are all together as a Holostars team.
• Tokoyami Towa and Natsuiro Matsuri are both Team Captains.
• This means that Hololive have 4 participants: Towa, Matsuri, Choco, and RBC. Fubuki, Ayame, and Shion are not participating this time.
• Yakumo Beni, Kaga Nazuna, Hanabusa Lisa (VSPO), Mayuzumi Kai, Morinaka Kazaki (Nijisanji), Fairys (Indie), Yuzuki Choco (Hololive) are all participating in a tournament for the first time.

Now I would like every single person in this thread to observe that Virtual Gorilla the Idol Killa is in a team with Hoshikawa Sara and Matsuri is in the tourney. Gorilla is not only primed and ready to destroy Matsuri, but he has Matsuri's oshi on his team while he gets to destroy Matsuri. What kind of fucked up divine comedy is this and who needs a bag of popcorn? I got plenty of bags to spare gentlemen!
