I'm also concerned about the oversaturation of the V-Tuber market, but those who are worth their salt will rise to the occasion.

I forgot the exact term, but there's a phenomenon like this. When the market is oversaturated, only those that is actually good or savvy enough will remain. Everyone else will either fade into obscurity or move on to greener pasture

Have a mixed feeling about this. It feels like a generic anime ending, but with certain taste. Whoever said ita like Monogatari is right, this feels like something that came out years ago at the peak of Utaite trend.

Sadly though, Ina's vocal definitely still need some work. Don't get me wrong, her voice is nice. But her singing...left me asking for more. She can definitely improve however. If she moves to Japan, or after this pandemic is over, perhaps she can get a vocal lesson

So I was watching VIOLET ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ZdLXELdF9Q ) and I thought it was pretty good, but a couple of things caught my attention.

The first was this:


See that text at the bottom? That's from the Bible. 1 Corinthians 13:13. I was fairly shocked at seeing a Bible quote in a Hololive MV, I don't mind telling you. Upon further watching, it turns out there are five shots in the MV that quote the Bible: Proverbs 10:12, Job 23:10, 1 Corinthians 13:13, Matthew 11:28, and 1 Timothy 6:7. They're all accompanied by big cryptic numbers that I didn't look at except to confirm that they aren't the chapter/verse numbers.

Considering the "faith, hope, love" construction and the fact that Irys is supposed to be "hope", one wonders if there's a hint here about the themes of future vtubers (personified "faith" and "love" perhaps) but that's speculative and very unlikely.

The other thing I wondered about was the other character. In the MV, there are two characters. The first is Ina, obviously. The other appears to be the person to whom she's singing:


I would guess this character is a girl, since s/he seems to be wearing a skirt in one shot and it's homolive, but I can't tell for sure. I wonder if there's any lore to this character or it was just created because it's a love song and a love song needs to be sung to someone.

EDIT: Looking at it again, there seem to be 3 characters: a boy, a short-haired girl, and a long-haired girl (Ina). Now I'm thinking the short-haired girl is past Ina and the boy is the one she's singing to.

It's close, but there are some differences from the NIV. The Prov 10:12 quote in the video says "dissension" rather than hatred, and dissension shows up in the Berean Study and NET translations, but the rest of it aligns with the NIV rather than the others.

Wonder whether Ina wanted them in the video, or whether the video guy did it.

This is Kiwi Farms. Pessimism is the norm, despite how vile such a view is. Better to be optimistic and get hurt than to be seeing nothing but the worst all the time.

As far as my thoughts on Soda's situation, the whole thing seems sudden, really. Too sudden for it to be a deliberately planned like some imply. The guy went out of his way to befriend the other clippers, only to up and vanish from their circle. I wouldn't be surprised if its a situation where a friend or family member got really into vtubers and wanted to be one themselves, so he/they decided basically reshape the channel around them to build their ability to stream and interact with fans.

If Soda does end up going full vtuber, they'll have to remove all clips, on top of rebranding like they just did this morning. The person behind this clearly isn't stupid, and given how genuinely awestruck the VA was by Ollie's presence, I feel like everything is just an attempt to get said VA into the vtubing scene. If it really is two, then the two likely know each other. My personal rrat is siblings, but close friends would also make sense.

So basically the VA becomes the vtuber, the talent, while the original Soda fades into the background as the guy who manages the channel and such. Which isn't totally unheard of. Indies have had managers to help with things so they can focus on their vtubing.

Is it a bit scummy to just up and do this without explaining to anyone? Yeah, but its not something to get hung over. I definitely don't consider the monetizing scummy. Given how frequently they post and such, its probably their only real source of income. The meta tagging definitely isn't scummy because this was a clipping channel trying to make sure their stuff gets out there. Considering how fucked the algorithm is now even longtime anti-clickbait YouTubers have had to resort to the low practice, so I can't in good conscience hold that against anyone.

Id also refrain from trying to paint any approaches to being a vtuber as malicious. This is something thats been a relentlessly positive influence on so many that to assume anything out of the norm as malicious is reckless. Zentraya, even if they are a guy, is clearly really good friends with others and treats others well. I can't label them hiding their true self as malicious because of that.

My adhd brain is starting to devolve into rambling so Ill stop here. Ill add more as discussion continues.

The most likely reason for the EN curse is how the girls are based in all over the place of the world. Compared to the more dense Japan, EN girls have to connect with each other over continents

Getting upset because a design has a similar aesthetic to another is odd. Color theme is clearly inspired by Pepsi now that I look at it closely. Similarities are clearly coincidental here.
