Okay, tangent here. But I'm struggling to remember. Does anyone else remember from a few months ago, someone reposted a 4chan post claiming that a friend got headhunted by Cover specifically because they were a Japanese and English speaking artist, and they wanted to fill the ranks in Gen 2 there before recruiting the rest of the talent?

I'm personally interested in both the "orcschizo" and that "Amber" post made weeks ago on /vt/. Pretty sure the orc is more LARPing, but /vt/ is both hoping and dreading the possibility of it being one of the picks. Also I'll have to agree with kadmckool, the gen feels a bit clique-y with the artists involved, but HoloJP has streamers that already knew each other before joining Hololive, so it isn't that surprising.

I can understand being angry at not being given a chance or even the same level of success as a corpo, but Christ, it just feels like people like these got into Vtubing or streaming because they thought it was easy money and would be rolling in Coco tier Superchat by slapping anime tits on their stream

I really would like to know why some of the girls actually got selected. Anya does have some charm but it would rather watch someone else. I think she shines the most when collabing though.

That's not what I meant. She said that she tried singing songs like that in her own time in the past, and she wasn't able to do it properly. And from what I heard from clips, she was right. Not everyone can do everything, I guess.

Well, you are talking about zombo who took a break to seek professional mental help so not surprising.

Gen 5 at least have to wade through their genmate graduating without consulting them and EN debut somewhat crippled them. Ollie just getting confidence issue after watching EN2(and IRyS) getting scaled up chuuniedge presentation with their teasers(hell, even EN1 only had intro trailer like ID2 did)

Imagine how Gen 0 and Gen 1 feel when most of their Kouhais just flew past and left them behind. I get why Ollie feels this way but at the same time she's the most popular ID talent and she's pretty unique so there really isn't much to worry about.

Well she finally put it up ready to go, could be a great laugh or a great horror. I wonder if she will have a mic and everything.

Really reminds me when Pekora brought her mum on that one time, now that was a legendary moment to witness.

I'd like to see how many Western viewers are still watching Aki, what percentage of Subaru's viewers are Kaigainiki, how many of Ollie's viewers are from outside of Indonesia etc. Those types of analytics that they can see but not us would give us a much clearer picture on just how much a new Gen shakes things up.

I blame Hololive for this. They are saturating the market with new talents to the point of I can't really keep up. I used to watch Amelia every day she would stream. Now I barely even see her on. There is also the language barrier. Its hard to tune in to a streamer when you don't really understand 95% of the things they say. I would love to watch Subaru or Aki more but I can only rely on clips from translators.

Doubt it has anything to do with Technical problems and more to do with a high chance for her mother forgetting to talk to Kiara in character and reverting to calling her by her real name or something like that. Hell if Keeki couldn't do it, I don't think she trusts her mother to do it either. Its understandable but at the same time its kinda sad because Pekora's mom was really good.

Are you sure? It's been a year since any new JP crew, ID added only 3, and they went nearly a year before adding a second EN gen (aside from Irys). It's Nijisanji that gets the jokes about making the entire world into vtubers.

Hololive doesn't add huge numbers, it's just that the whole company are top 100 vtubers so there's a lot that you want to follow.

Plus if you fell down the Pippa actual-rabbit hole and have less free time as a result, that's not Hololive's fault.

I love how they always say "But what if Hololive hired some talentless moron?". They want to use an example but they can't actually name one, because there's absolutely no reason for a famous company to do such a thing.

what an incredibly bad take. If you ask me Holo and Niji EN are 12 /12 for hiring legitimately interesting talent, their scouting has been incredibly good, so the hype is warranted, i do like some indies, but at the end of the day, these two specific companies has a really good scouting track record, and a shit ton of indies are just fucking awful people.

Mamatori getting to respond on stream to Kiara being "Aggressively European" was hilarious.
Gura making jokes at Kiara's expense, Gura is still spicy after her Gawr stream.
Mamatori needs a minecraft intervention, she's played minecraft for 12hrs today, 9hrs before the colab and then another 3 with Kiara.

Edit: I know the trouble of there being too many great talents, especially En Hololive and Nijisanji. I really only watch Hololive now, as they have the members I enjoy the most and I've even reduced to mostly watching only 3 of them and even then I'm still struggle to keep up. When I first started down the rabbithole I was watching a couple of indies and Pikamee, but sadly I just don't have the time to keep up with them much anymore and haven't really been able to check out much of the other newly found vtubers I like either. I'm really not helped by the fact I'll also happily watch members from the JP and ID branches too. Realistically we're never going to be able to watch all the ones we like, even amongst all the forgettable/garbage indies/small company, you have amazing treasures worth watching consistently.

Small consolation in regards to Hololive, is that during Coco's interview with Yagoo, he mentioned they were only going to consider expanding when they think the branch can support a new Gen, without it negatively affecting the others in the branch. Which is why they haven't done any recruiting for JP Hololive/Stars or ID. I do wonder about EN Gen 3, though I wouldn't be surprised if they waited another year or longer. Also I'm curious when they might start considering doing a EN Holostars, but again I wouldn't be surprised that they would want the JP Stars branch to be doing better, even if they could possibly get a boost from an EN branch. Yagoo was originally helping manage Holostars members in the early days and sounds like he still trying to think of way to help the Holostars boys.
