General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Yeah. I just wonder if that thing about fans cutting themselves is hyperbole or if it's literally happening.

i mean, i sure hope it's hyperbole, but with holofans? you never know. i wouldn't be surprised honestly.
I don't doubt there are a few cases...
I doubt that it will go out in such a violent fashion.

If I had to predict stuff, it will probably grow and then become nothing special, just one of the many content options.
Many vtubers do the same things that IRL content creators have been doing for some time (mainly lets-plays), what is driving the current trend is the uniqueness of virtual characters doing it.
Once that uniqueness wears off it will remove vtubers from the current "pedestal" that they are standing on and push them into the sea of other creators that they will have to compete with.

If I had to compare the current trend to something, it would be video games. There are certain periods when certain games become THE game to play, think Minecraft, FNAF, Undertale, Fortnite and currently Among Us. The period lasts for some time and then it becomes just another game.
It'll definitely lose the "new car" smell, but you can't deny the whole "no political bullshit" rule will help it stay afloat where sooner or later every other creator does or says something to capitulate to wokeshit.

Why do you think certain "people" keep trying to start shit, and failing? They just want to drag people into the shithole to be miserable, and it's not going to work.

Nobody wants stupid bullshit plaguing our entertainment anymore, and as long as it's a viable alternative, it's going to draw money.

Even the attention whores get patrolled very quickly people is tired of their mediums of entertainment telling them how to think and what to do, that is why Venti and Pokimane got huge backlash, gatekeeping is going to be the new norm and they hate it

Edit: why is this so freaking surreal

I hope it stays apolitical and sane forever, despite any problems. Any dire thunk-posting is done with the idea that if vtubers fall, it's due to business as usual in the East, and bpd-fueled culture wars in the West. I see Subaru on the side of a Subaru and feel pretty optimisitic. I see a Nyan-Silver-Melody-Zen-Mouse ratking forming, and I feel despair.

AFAIK she was invited to be a part of the commentary team.

Apolitical, hmm? Seeing as how apolitics is still the wrong politics, perhaps we'll get a scare article next year about vtubers being a "disturbing new trend" and the community being filled with incels, misogynists, and white supremacists. It will take four or five paragraphs for the author to throw in the word "Gamergate" but it'll definitely be in there. Heck, the Venti videos are already like 25% there. History doesn't repeat itself, but it rhymes…

And who's gonna pay attention to it? Oh right, people that don't watch and were never going to.

Why would anyone care?

Botan was even invited to try out Call of Duty: Cold War
She's a legit mover and shaker in FPS

We'll see this shit next Spring/Summer, but for now I'm just going to enjoy watching this lion play Call of Duty and score 400% higher in Choco's Hi-Q quiz than the company average.

The dog is 13 hours and counting in assassin creed, people is throwing superchats telling her to go to sleep
Dog is still playing Assassin's Creed, though it currently says the stream started 7 hours ago, so she apparently took a break at some point (or YouTube crapped out on her, I don't know).

She finally finished the main story after 23 hours supposedly she did this endurance stream because her mom is sick and she want to take a break for a while to take care of her

Hello why would you link your plebbit and twatter posts on this website? Especially if you constantly suicide-bait for attention and claim to be a christian witch? Seems to be pretty cringe, tbh.

A "non-binary AFAB who cuts herself for attention" AKA when you decide to embrace all stereotypes to be uniq- oh you're self aware at least lmao
