Well, I suppose they need a selling point.

Half the isdue with Holo is they seem to only be able to stream games for so long and it’s always up in the air what games they will be and for how long for.

As a result they’ve become more of an ad rather than a streamer. Which I will posit is a big cause behind the more amicable graduations. The Talents want to be able to play and finish games.

Honestly, it makes sense. If you are an industry sized company figuring out how to small scale that in a bunch of random locations all with different issues and trouble shouting on the fly is an entirely different skill set and would take learning entirely different equipment.

This kind of thing is why I love Phase (no shade to Hololive, there is a reason they are the industry standard). In any other cropo this would be made into a big drama or at least have negative consequences for the talents involved but for Phase it's just fuel for more content. Also, someone posted not that long ago that if times were different these girls would be hurling slurs at each other nonstop and I immediately thought about the fact that Panko is Italian and Tenma is Romanian. It was inevitable that Panko would call her a gypsy. I just didn't expect to be proven right so quickly.

Nintendo was infamously strict about people streaming their own games back in the 2010s and only eased up after the backlash.

Granted, this was during the Wii u era but after the switch blew up they became a lot more diabolical like their 90 selves.

I have some friends in the scene that are Nintendo partners and in order to become one and to get access to stuff that other people don't have you need to follow some extreme guidelines.

Everybody in Japan is afraid of them but that doesn't always translate over to Western talents under a Japanese company

Japan is infinitely more retarded about patents. You at least have a chance in US courts if you've got competent lawyers who actually do work.
