General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
..nothing she said disproves the rrat that I believe which explains the wait: All the new outfits were nearly fully rigged, but then management looked at Gura's rigging, realized it was once again garbage, threw out all the work her rigger had done on the new outfit, and finally just told him to fuck off forever, never to taint another hololive idol's visage with his sub-par rigging skills ever again. Of course, that means they had to hire someone else to rig Gura's new outfit, and that's why they've been delayed. okay I don't actually believe that but it would be really cool if the outfit didn't have holes in it this time
Let me guess, same shitty rigger who rigs new Gura and Anya costume?
If Gura gets another mask-face I think we will get 20 pages about it.
Maybe I just assumed, but the papa/rigger isn't on Gura's twitter bio anymore though, and she hasn't been using that much of her new costume (around once or twice within consecutive 10 streams).
The furthest date I find is from Nijisanji Masaru Suzuki, Oct 16

We are beset by many terrible foes in these dark times, but we walk in the light of Yagoo, and we shall not let a single foe stay us from our Stream. We are the Sisters of the great Hololive and we will entertain to the bitter end. - Fubuki maybe
Hololive is Family - Tokino Sora, 2021

It was wild to see so much discussion about Fubuki in 2020 and the first half of 2021 when I was reading the thread highlights. Ambitions for Hololive, holding herself hostage over the T-word incident, grief over Coco's graduation. Now things like her comments being off don't spawn any rrats spicier than "gachikoi" and "West Taiwan bugs", at least not here. Not to say people like her less now, it just feels strange.

All she said about Hololive from the translation is that Coco left Hololive, other than that the rest is about Coco and how you can easily find her. It would be a stretch to call it slander against the corpo.
There were two mentions of Coco, not necessarily in this order:
- Paraphrased "Coco left Hololive, the chat is saying who she is now." This is in the translation.
- Paraphrased "I can't promise Russian streams, just like Coco didn't have the freedom to do English streams." This is not in the clip. While it wasn't her main point and wasn't malicious, it's a definite (and wrong) statement about how another corpo keeps shop.

>Also, once again, Nina's biggest mistake is not talking about Coco, but saying things about other group/corpo that could be mistaken as a slander

It's not like room mate talk is less yab than corpo talk, she basically went against the first and second commandments, if she gets a free pass it's only because she's so small that nobody cares enough

I knew Nina wasnt worth giving the benefit of the doubt but even I didnt expect her to yab this fast, this wont be the last or worst yab from her.

It's really cute that Suisei can sip her juice now, even if it encourages certain people...
I'm really enjoying all the new weird additions vtuber models are getting

I hope when the new Sonic game is released that a lot of vtubers play it, Korone especially of course. Whether it's good or a dumpster fire game, it'll be entertaining either way.

Starting.
It's been 50 minutes and she hasn't started FEAR yet, did I miss her saying she's not gonna play it today? Personally don't mind too much since it's been entertaining so far but it would be nice to know.

Edit: Nevermind she finally started

Nerds gonna nerd.
Besides, we have a spinoff thread, and look how that one turned out:
Mentally tune out anything you don't particularly care about and just go with the flow.
That thread reminds me of the Donald Trump thread in that it's mostly just people seething as opposed to actually documenting lolcow behavior.

Also on the russian fox thing, I'm not a big niji watcher but if they start doing shit better than Hololive I'd be happy to watch. The issue is none of their EN mems are clicking with me. And Nina just seems to know less than nothing about being a vtuba. Even Mori who admited she knew nothing at least dug deep and did her reps. Even then, did no one coach the fox on the do's and don'ts? That seems like something a manager should pick up on in my opinion.

Sorry, from VTuberCringe again.

What do you all think about this?

diverting funding from 1 project for another isn't embezzling. If they were embezzling money it doesn't go back into the company for marketing or ad revenue. Some bean counter projected the ad revenue and donations, subscription gains from the vtuber and found it to be a decent revenue driver.

the japanese animation industry was fucked before crunchyroll with the per page costs being super cheap thanks to digital.

Dunno. Makes sense as rrats go. Crunchy love to billy bullshit. But at the same time if they at least said "we're using the funds we make from our anime localisations to fund our v-tuber" I'd have no issue with it. I think the issue has always been CR being pozzed and gay whilst also obviously lying that they are "supporting" the anime industry. When they clearly aren't just based on where we do see the money go towards their own shitty animes.

It's true that it isn't embezzlement, but it's still a possible punishable offence if they are reallocating internal budgets. We saw this when the guy making Gen:LOCK at RoosterTeeth was fired for pouring animator wages and budgets of other projects into his shitty mecha show without anyone's knowledge.

The veracity of Crunchyroll saying all the money goes to paying Japanese animators and 'fixing' their unfair economy is found wanting when we see them funding their own pozzed animation studios and now throwing a few thousand at a V-Tuber model. CR aren't a not-for-profit organisation so they clearly have the capacity to set aside money for Marketing purposes, but it's strange how you never hear of their deeds paying the animators whilst all this money gets sunk into their own expansion.
