General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Again with the EN curse.

Or not.

And we're back!

So in half an hour, the Goddess of Chaos, the Unraveller of Civilisation, a rat and an owl

Bae's POV (Mumei isn't streaming)

Bae to chat: No. Come on guys, we're not reading the fanfic this time. That would be a whole stream in itself.
(:_(
On the bright side, more time for Haachama to show off the Tower of Babel up close and for Mumei's death cult.

Souchou talks about the recent announcement of V-Katsu ending and recalls her her early days of Vtubing. She also talks at length about how prejudice, bias and streaming go hand in hand, and why Vtubing became a safe haven and home for her.
First half is about vtubing in general and it's appeal. The second half is the closest you're gonna get to the full Kson story summarized.

I do like how the whole of NijiEN basically treats Nijiscenario as a punishment game at this point.
I think the EN management are aware of it too, tbh. It feels like something coming from the JP side, maybe to tide us over until they get 3D and can have something more comprehensive.

If I was in charge of NijiScenario, I'd make each episode interactive. Hyperlink choices pop up on screen and lead to Unlisted videos that reflect that choice. Kind of like a visual novel offering different endings. At least you could offset the cringe by saying that they're trying to do something interesting, and one viewer will have a totally different experience to others etc.

They removed annotations on YouTube a while ago.

and Enna had an interesting point in a recent stream that the voice isn't built to talk as long and as often as streamers try, and that tender balance is why she doesn't release covers very quickly.
What Enna said is probably especially true if you happen to be someone who doesn't talk a lot because they're quiet and reserved irl. Though I'd assume hyper-social people still need time to rest their voice too.
My head decided to dent deeper, so I trawled through /pcg/ for some stupid bullshit. Came back with this shit and started asking around on the Discord. Apparently, a guy was there on the VC when one of the incidents happened and confirmed it to me. There could be something stirring 'neath the surface here.

This is about Kraze, one of the PC Discord Mods, noted Chinese shill who gets upsets when people starts bing chilling.

BTW, the Elira-cord stuff is apparently the Elira Pendora fan discord. If I understand this right; a Phase Connect mod (not exclusively to Youtube) holding potential dox info of a talent and is being outted for trying to groom two random girls in a fan discord along with this Kiyona person?

Idk how much fuss was kicked up and when about China or Chinese people showing up, so I'll reserve a little bit of judgement there. It could have been from when Uruka sang a CN song or something like that, maybe the channers got riled up.
I remember one incident where Uruka sang Super Idol in a karaoke and a bunch of chatters started spamming "social credit score +[X number]" and there was a massive time-out wave that followed. I think a few people have also posted stuff like John Cena's Bing Chilling clip in the Pippa channel and get instantly warned/nuked. The dude really doesn't like it when people start talking shit about the CCP. Which can be fair because its a slippery slope to lead into political shitflinging but it really doesn't help his case here, especially when he's casually dropping the trashbear's nationality.
I also find it funny that a lot of this shit that is dropping after the "management Q&A" Fishman did with Tsunderia's management.

That is the allegation, yeah. Though Kiyona is just a third party in all of this. Some person that talked to both the PC Discord mods and the grooming targets. Apparently he had been sitting on this information for a while now. Not sure why it came up now and not then.

Slightly off topic but does anyone here know any IRL women who like V-tubers? You'd think considering the majority of Vtubers are real women that there'd at least be some. But I've yet to meet them. It just seems to be a very male orientated fandom. V-Tubers just seem to have this power to make all the women in my life seethe like nothing else I've ever seen.

What do they think of NijiMEN?

Have female friends into Vtubers
One is a Lesbian, so she doesn't care about Males
Another I know is into Kanae but I haven't seen her comment as much about ENMales
The rest don't know of any Vtubers outside of Hololive + people in our circle of friends who became Vtubers

it would certainly be less concerning if it was just an elaborate joke, but the fact they do it regularly with any female content creator kinda makes it just seem like a genuine insecurity.
I meant Callie and Connor doing it to just piss people off. As for the sperging on /vt/ about it im sure its real although im also sure some people join in just to fan the flames.

Phase Connect is the only company I've seen ads work for. Part of that is their ads are surprisingly good, at least for Pippa and Uruka who are the only one's I remember.

Running ads might be kind of cringe, but both of them do a good job of hooking you with the streamer's selling points: Pippa is v-tuber Alex Jones and Uruka can do music well.
The ads after Uruka's cover of Monster came out is probably that blew her sub count up by about 10k. Fishman also started running ads on Michiru's original song. While it didn't get her many subs the view count skyrocketed from about 3k views the first month to 24k after the second month. (700% increase). Phase being a small company is still in the process of getting the word out about their talents to get to a stable average viewer per stream of 500ish. At that point the Algorythm really starts to work in your favor by recommending you more.

I would double down on the cringe and make it this weird and awkward thing people watch to see talents like Selen slowly die inside.

Fishman is part Chinese and Uruka also seems to be Chinese and at certain points, they have tried to chill a bit towards getting some Chinese viewers. As much as I hate a ton of things that are china-related from a management standpoint its probably best to keep any anti-chinese sentiment or comments out of the chat/discord. As for the whole grooming thing nothing on that list of things seems to really raise huge flags other than the guy seems to be autistic as fuck and a huge simp who got a little "power" and wants to show it off. Probably not the best person to have around in a mod position but whatever. That said, this makes me think its just a nothing burger and the poster is just a huge tumblr faggot.

As for knowing people who are into Vtubers, all my IRL friends are normies. Have an online friend I play league with and whenever I post Pippa clips she says she finds her hilarious but I doubt she actively searches or watches any Vtuber.

No.

Ok seriously, I know women IRL who are into vtubers but 2 of them ARE vtubers and the others who even know of them are all hardcore weebs.
