General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

It's not really that bad. Amelia is consistently funny and entertaining in these streams, and it's just nice to hear her voice and know she's having a good time. There was a time, quite awhile ago now that I think about it, when she really didn't seem to be having fun during streams and her motivation was seemingly at a real low. Ever since that time I have been grateful for any stream that gives me the impression she's doing fine. Normally if she's having fun, then I'm happy watching her.

I agree. If my oshis are playing a game I'm not interested in I'll just let it play in the background and listen to the banter and ignore the game. Or if it is really bad, take a break and catch up on the 100 other videos I'm behind on. As long as they are having fun doing it, who am I to complain! If they are miserable playing a game and clearly not enjoying it (like Gura was with Elden Ring), then it just drags on and sucks the fun out of it.

Kinda retarded to set up foreign branches and then not support them and just hope they don't flounder. They could atleast send KIara a mocap suit and a cheap greenscreen. She already went over how she can't get a visa to work in Japan. This and Irys really isn't painting a good picture for EN considering it's a successful branch and Kiara even has some of the most superchats now Rushia is gone.

The majority of holo is JP and nicely contained in a small country. In fact I think most of them are in Tokyo, but even if not they are just a train ride away on a great transit system. Besides the actual company being there, it just makes sense to have a 3D studio there. EN and ID are a minority part with just a dozen members or less each and spread all over the world, especially EN. It doesn't make sense to have a 3D studio/office in any other particular spot as talents would have to fly in and they might as well just go to JP at that point. And I'm sure if covid wasn't a thing they would regularly be having them go there.

The only way an EN (or non-JP in general) office/studio would make sense to set up would be if they required people to all relocate to a single general location like LA or something and/or only hired in that area. But that ship has sailed as they already have too many EN people spread all over to really make that feasible anymore. Besides, one of the biggest draws of being a vtuber/youtuber is that you can do it remotely from anywhere and I don't know how many you'd be able to convince to move to whatever location.

Crazy how Kobo shot off. Her and Zeta hit 300K together in a collab stream not long after debut and now Kobo is already over 600K and Zeta hasn't quite hit 400K yet. Poor Kaela though is going under the radar like Lui did when holoX came out, but seems to have good work ethic and keeping going along steadily.

I did fall for her, she's cute

What of it, I feel no shame

While not of the NSFW variety, it feels like some of the pipposts are starting to skirt the "don't thirstpost" line. Especially the scurge of "I can fix her" posts that have finally died down at least.

How will it affect her co-workers? What happened? I missed the stream and need to wait for stable connection to download Zilla's archive. I know the stream was a thinly veiled jab at the gunt. Are you worried he's gonna retaliate against the other PC girls?
It's not so much what she did yesterday, but what shes been doing for a while.
The gunt is reaching supercritical point and anyone even remotely associated to him is gonna catch airborne cancer, its best to just let it explode, and then laugh at the ashes.

Pretty much everyone seems to do FOMO for merch these days, content creators especially. Maybe stats prove it grabs people by the balls well enough, but I don't really get it. Not letting someone give you money down the line so that a scalper can get 3x what you'd get sounds stonks as fuck.
I first saw it catch on in indie music about twenty years ago, early in the vinyl and cassette resurgence. Maybe it's what caused them. What it did for me is make it absolutely impossible to buy the records I wanted unless I personally knew the people who made them, and sometimes even that didn't help. So, after buying about one new album a day for my entire life so far (statistically), I cold-turkey stopped buying music forever. Copyright infringement is your best entertainment value, as the label on Negativland CDs used to say.

I don't have any tuber merch because the "business model" pisses me off too much.

Ah. You see, 'Hag Love' is a reference to an infamous incident that happened in a German hotel in late 2020 which involved Kiara, a liter of rum, some pickles and several gallons of sauerkraut. It's named after the hotel that was trashed as a result of this fiasco. It was mostly covered up by Cover (ha!) and their legal team, but you can occasionally see people here who witnessed the video's gory details mentioning it in their profile or sometimes in posts. You might be able to find the original video link mirror if you search this thread for it.
Damn white girls really gone wild. Now I know what the 'usual room' is in KFP.

I'm too retarded/unknowledgable to comment on anyrhing else, but god damn do I hate the FOMO limited time/quantity shit that other vtuber corpos do. If I want to waste my money on a Tako and Kotori plush, let me.
FOMO and "limited time" shit is done so for many reasons. While I hate it, I completely understand why it's done that way.
1. The merch becomes collectible. (for the fans)
2. No need to worry about reprinting or having to switch manufacturers, once the initial run is up, that's it. (for the talent/company creating the merch)
3. You create demand by limiting the supply so you can charge more for the goods. (for the profits)

I usually avoid most of the Roblox shit Pippa does. So up to a certain point, I'm willing to skip days if I feel like the content won't appeal to me even if in theory the most important thing is the talent itself and not the game. On the flip side, there are a nice number of vtubers I follow so it's rare to only have 1 to choose from.

This popped up in my youtube. So are these girls just imitating Vei's voice (like Shylily) or do EU girls just speak English as if they had downs like that?

Branca reacting to Pippa: Oh good lord.

Sums it up about right.
Where at? I don't follow these faggots but since its somewhat related to the Pips....

Ina got over 200 (and counting) gifted subs in the waiting room, 100 of them by the same person.
I guess the next member stream isnt gonna be as comfy.
Yeah I know I'm late, Figured I had to do this at some point though.
Super cute, funny, and wholesome birthday as always. Ina really is a player with that harem; Nene, Lamy, Okayu, Marine, etc. The videos were awesome, really wish Calli made one. Watame's so adorable too. And so was her drawing and Ina's as well. Most of the drawings were fantastic, with a couple of them there was definitely an attempt. Ame is an MVP for that terrarium, crazy and creative. Oh and Ina got a few other gremlins too, including blessed morning Bae voice. Everything was just so nice (with funny moments like all the flirting, Okayu saying she likes tentacle play, etc).

I also really like the merch; it's very creative. Gorgeous art, wonderful button, the laundry stuff is very useful and adorable, and the postcard is terrific. And of course I can't forget how insanely kind it was for Ina to have that VR Chat space made, she really is so appreciative of everyone's support and it shows.

I wonder when Andrew did his first stream with Nick about Ahmed Aubrey if he ever dreamed that this is the trajectory his life would take, getting brought up by a pink anime rabbit?

This chick is still missing? Is she dead on the floor of a Japanese apartment somewhere?
Ame's sister better be okay. Chat never got a chance to flick her ahoge.

She doesn't stream at the moment but released a Monster cover with Ayame's mama Kagura Nana this month.

I like the top comment of this MV: "I never understood how people can name every Touhou character. I get it now."
