Akatora Chimon was a Hanamori vtuber - Hanamori being an informal grouping of indies, not a company. Hanamori is a bit notable as being the source of NijiEN's Elira, Shu, and Uki, and Pomu was also quite close with many Hanamoris. Needless to say when Chimon announced his graduation in January many suspected that he would soon debut in Nijisanji EN, yet Noctyx came the following month and Chimon was not to be heard. As such, I can see why he is a popular candidate for Tempus speculation.

Chimon would be a pretty sensible pick, IMO. Like the other Hanamoris he is "safe" - a solid, restrained, largely drama-free choice and someone who can be around girls without dropping his spaghetti. He has a pretty good singing voice as well. One thing that might cause drama on /vt/ is that he seems to be ethnically Chinese. His character was a "Chinese mafia boss leader," in that old vtuber Bossa Nova video he is shown with the PRC flag, and in his version of the vtuber self introduction song he describes himself as being from "somewhere in China," though that could simply be him sticking to his character. I don't believe he actually lives in China, probably somewhere in the US or Canada.


Personally I'd rather him be in NijiEN simply because he was a part of that circle of friends, but I'd be glad to see him in Holo too. If he is in Tempus then Hanamori's "Kami no Manimani" cover would become even more funny to watch with hindsight.
