General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

RIP. The new, retarded Minecraft EULA is probably going to kill vtuber minecraft streams.
I don't see anything in the update to it that would do that much. Some autism about titles and usage of assets but that's simple enough to work around.

I see some people dooming on twitter about the commercial use guidelines but there's practically no real change there from how it has been for some time.

Microsoft acquiring a thing and fucking it up, a tale as old as time. If it stops Pomu from doing Minecraft streams though I'm calling it a win.

Bijou tried to play Elden Ring and her stream went to 0.01 FPS immediately after getting past the opening cutscene. A well deserved punishment for not picking a character with only points in Strength.

Edit: She's back but still being a very unbased intfag. Could be worse, could be a dexnigger.

it's worded in enough leeway that MS could go full retard. said the wrong thing? uhoh. wrong mods? uhoh. monetizing videos without giving MS a cut? uhoh.
it's more retarded than the usual nip or nintendo license, let that sink in. and since cover had to deal with tard companies like capcom in the past, they'll either get their own license to be legally save, or remove minecraft from future schedules.

cover will probably try to go with the former for simple business reasons, but again this is MS, if they were not retarded this new EULA wouldn't be a thing in the first place (for example "we can change it any time and it's your job to check it yourself" is apparently very illegal in the EU).
or, third option, cover pours more money into their MC clone and goes with that to be 100% safe and not having to deal with retarded western companies.

right but...... no lol

"uh oh wrong mods" most don't use mods in the first place, won't be an issue.

"uh oh said the wrong thing" the only thing close to that is about content on servers needing to be age appropriate, that doesn't apply to what's said in the video or even what's said in the chat on the server (they've always had a disclaimer for playing online about that in the game itself)

"uh oh monetized video without giving MS a cut" all but like one portion of the monetization policy that is listed there was a: already a thing before this EULA update and b: has no bearing on any Vtuber stuff. The restrictions are on running sponsorships on IRL events (nothing vtuber related) and paywalling servers or otherwise gating them using 3rd party systems. (nothing vtubers use)

The people that will see the biggest hit from this (if Microsoft even takes action on anything considering how much of this isn't stuff they can easily track and would have to be found by them or reported to them) would be stuff like people who run servers for "patreon supporters only" and stuff like that, prior to this there were still some similar restrictions like the fact that you couldn't play MC in a members only stream (as that was treated as paywalling the content)

For the average Vtuber the net change they should see is just the stuff about video titles and usage of logos in thumbnails. I doubt any vtuber is gonna drop it over this and I doubt even less any corpo will.

Poor fox.

Mousey's 6th year streaming anniversary was earlier this week, in which she released a 6 minute animated lore video done by Tonari Animation, who in relation to the vtuber sphere did the Shark'd animation with Gura
A new song with Bubi(CDawgVA), written and produced by Hala_CG, mixed and mastered by Shirobeats. (and tbh one of the best songs for showing off her singing that she's released)
Another new model "Brat Princess" Ironmouse, featuring giant pink drills

And to top it off two merch drops, one the Vshojo official for her 6th anniversery, and a second one that was a collab with the ApariArt.

Finally, Vshojo announced something new coming, rrats range from some handpicked new members that have recently graduated from elsewhere, a concert, or even an entire new 'generation' of 7-9 talents spread across both Vshojo and VshojoJP (Current rrats include possibly grabbing Nina Kosaka and one of the big four original Vtubers Mirai Akari)

Next month will mark two years since auditions went live for Vshojo. No information about it has been made public in nearly a year too.

Edit: I believe the idea of a "unit" song more than anything else.

V&U debuted a 3rd generation a few days ago, quick rundown. One thing V&U gets right is their rigging is excellent, all of them are good, or maybe the technology is just so much better now after the vtuber peak two years ago. Their debuts were only 40 minutes so it's easy to digest and discern. It seems like they're going more english instead of english/korean like they did for gens 1 & 2.

Echo Lyne, a sentient SD card who inhabits the robot girl. Her voice is familiar but I can't put a name to it. Her model is one of the better 3D models and she seems to do 3D animation herself, which shows in the opening lore animation. She's playing the tsundere card but was confident throughout the debut, the right about of breaking the 4th wall and making fun of herself (her sevenhead)

00119.png

Kagekiri Maeve, ninja girl raised in a ninja village who discovers the outside world by pretending to be a high school girl. Good BGM, she sounds like she's tomboyish but not like Liora Walkyria. Very confident as well that almost seems like she rides that manic depressive wave hard, her voice sounds like Nina from Nijisanji minus the honeys. Another very good model.

00121.png

Cyon Heart, a thief from the racoon world who steals and gets caught and gets away with everything, wants to steal the internet's greatest treasure. Her BGM is influence by the Mortal Kombat theme. She has a racoon partner named Pon Pon that seems like she's controlling it via a rigged puppet, which is interesting and original. Likes to use her tablet to doodle her thoughts, a good angle. Very good singing voice, the right level of low and smoky almost like when Shubaru sings.

00123.png

Meetaa Osita, the bewitching with, a Willy Wonka witch who sells potions with dubious results. She's actually a more mature witch but she drank the wrong potion and became smol, she mentions it's like Detective Conan. She speaks spanish and you can tell by her enunciation, this is V&U Reimu. She is the gacha girl for the generation. Her pet is Rito, a servant owl doll with a chocobo face.

00125.png

Suri Solari, a dragon who slept for a thousand years on her gold and lost her powers and is now Coco and Choco combined. She seems to be aiming to be the shitposter of the group, meme oriented, likes Dark Souls and shooters and JRPGs. Her companion is Mochi, her twin dragon.

Overall a solid debut, it a sign of the times that we've gone past peak vtuber because a lineup this solid with both members and the models/riggings would have gotten bigger waves, there's something for everyone.
