General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

The 2nd Nijsanji Virtual Rhapsody in Singapore is held this weekend. They couldn't sell out Finana's, Millie's and Elira's Meet & Greet tickets beforehands

How does being a weeb make what he said untrue?
Reality is what makes what he said untrue, being a weeb is just what tends to lead to that sort of idealization. Because every weeb who visits japan comes back with this starry eyed notion that the country is some sort of utopia because their worldview of the country is limited almost exclusively to the touristy areas of tokyo who's whole goal is to give that impression.

In his case, though, it seems less like weeb idolization and more like right-wing idolization of Japan as this perfect example of a homogenous "ethnostate" that the West should model itself after. People who hold this view see Japan as an example of how being a prideful, homogenous nation is superior to becoming a "weak", multicultural one. Such people whitewash all the issues that come with being a insular, ultraconservative, pressure cooker of a society, and only look at the positives, such as how clean and efficient Japan is, and how they emphasize societal harmony.

I've felt depressed after my visits to Japan, more than any other place I visited so I can see this hitting her harder than the usual Pippa Spiral. You go from a nice place that is busy but not at all hectic like NYC, is incredibly safe, is versatile in transportation, and see people having a work ethic even for menial tasks and there isn't a shitty culture of crapping on these people, and then you return back to the states and everything is inverted again. Even going to Europe is more like travelling within the US with how they've let everything turn to shit.

You go from sitting in an airport lounge that's nice and clean and quiet and regularly clean and update the food (ANA hires a lot of people with physical disabilities to work their lounges at Narita) to see a fat black woman looking at her phone instead of dealing with the line of people trying to pay for parking, if your car wasn't broken into or had its wheels stolen.
Damn, in that case I can't imagine how depressed I'd be when I travel outside of weeb island. I may as well run to a nearbuy gun range and fellate a handgun.

Great concert honestly. Really impressed with the quality for just like a convention appearance. Setlist had a lot of nice surprises and crossovers with talents singing eachothers songs or songs from people flat out just not there. Kudos to Mori for getting Marine to do her Future Island song with her as a duet including getting Marine to rap.

Seems like this was a test run for using performances like this as outreach to try and draw in new fans from untapped spaces. There was a definite focus in the show to explain "hey this is what hololive is and these are the things we do" which is smart because a lot of the people at Dreamhack, and at the concert (you could watch the show with just your dreamhack general admission ticket in the stands) aren't necessarily vtuber fans and putting on a good show like this is a good way to draw in new viewers. Hope they do more stuff like this in the future.

Just look at the Nijisanji rookie contract they were trying to get for example on work ethics.

Understand most jobs are shitty like that starting out for at least a year+. They work you to the bone and if they really like you, maybe you get to move up a single rung on the long ladder.

People like the idea of japan but having to live and work there is ass donkey balls.
I'm jealous of Japan because they have sick ass arcades.

If America could get the cool video game shit japan has, this country would be perfect, but it doesn't
The US used to have a ton of arcades and they were okay. But they died off and all you got left is shit in new york and like cali that are almost always on their last legs cause nobody comes in.
Beercades is the best we can get and those are full of hipster faggots.

True, cidercade in houston is in the most gentrified part of the city.

But it has metal slug, and some pretty tasty beer, so I'll let the hipsters slide, plus they're kinda shit at games so I get to feed my ego by dominating

Alot of right wingers are interested in anime so your probably both right, though I'm not sure if Japans flaws really come from being homogenous, since it seems like most asian countries have these problems.
