well like I said it works fine enough for the HoloJP members, AZKi just did one a week or two ago that was decently successful pushing over 11k new subs in a pretty short time. What I think the real issue is for EN with these streams is just the way EN and JP fans subscribe to talents is pretty different. With EN fans there's a tendency to "just subscribe to everyone even if you don't watch them" where JP fans tend more toward only subbing to those they actively watch and support.Yeah. Doing endurance streams isn't something a lot of the idol talents are known for. I don't think a lot of them have the stamina (or are autistic enough) to even attempt them. Indies get away with doing endurance shit a lot of the time because they're built different, and also because they don't have a handicap placed on them by a corpo.
What that results in a lot of times is when an EN member goes for one of those endurance streams the pool of potential new subscribers is smaller because most have already just casually subscribed over the years already and then you end up with stuff like Nerissa's sub-endurance stream where she streamed for like 6 hours to gain like 2k subs and not get anywhere near her goal (though to be fair there were other issues with her stream in that it was practically just a zatsu stream because she's autistic about ever actually doing karaoke).
Bae's doing better than that with this doing vertical karaoke (something about the vertical streams works differently in youtube's algorithm causing them to weirdly just perform better on average so if anyone's wondered what's up with members doing those streams lately that's why) but she's still looking at like an 6-7 hour stream total at her current pace and not a lot of girls, EN or JP, have the stamina to sing for THAT long. (only Mumei and Calli to my knowledge have gone that long without destroying their voice on the EN side, Kiara did a 6+ hour one once to push for 1.5 million subs but iirc the last hour or so of that her voice was completely shot and she spent like 20 minutes just doing "tequila" since it didn't require her to use her voice much.) The Mori and Mumei endurances at least sparked this silly "competition" with Mumei singing 101 songs, and Mori then singing 102 songs just to one up the record, even going so far as to make the 102nd song a troll by singing never gonna give you up.
Edit: I have apparantly greatly underestimated the vertical stream buff as Bae's now hit the goal under the 5 hour mark.
