Disney has seen the potential with coomers and women on the Internet, and seems to apply that to children and their own IP. It's actually a brilliant idea, who wouldn't want to have Cinderella or Elsa answer your question on Livestream? They can control the talent far beyond what Cover or Niji can while sidestepping the lewd aspect to appeal directly to advertisers and sponsors. All the while children (like with Fortnite) will throw dollar after dollar at the cartoon on the tablet because Mom gave them her credit card so they shut up and she can work

There are some archives on youtube. I have this one bookmarked, a regular Sylvester flesh stream from 2015.
I also found this really old clip from 2011 when she won the Nico Namaket Girls 2011 award on my on my hard drive. Her online activities really go back a long way. I think she must have been about 21 or 22 years old at that point.
Don't ask me where I got this, probably from something like Nyfco. I guess if you search the archive of her site and reverse-search some images you will get more of her content.

It's a natural extension of having people in mascot costumes, with the added benefit of not having to actually make the costume; it's far cheaper to get a rigged model, it can reach international audiences, and it's all digital.

I think the most interesting thing is that a lot of the media at the event was basically acting as if Disney created this concept which they wholeheartedly took credit for.

It really does remind me of the early 2000s where even though anime and it's fans were seen as gutter trash, we were starting to see a lot of Western animation take inspiration from it be it Avatar, Teen Titans, Code Lyoko, etc.

That just lets me know that the medium hasn't been too popular outside of its own country and specific circles that they could get away with it.

For as many fumbles as The mouse House has, their IPs are evergreen which is why the cast of Frozen or Encanto is more well known than any vtuber you can think of.

It's really cringe to us that understands where the artistry is coming from, but to the general public this is yet another innovation that they did.

The ones that I saw were mickey, donald, Goofy, and Minnie mouse.

They were all played by their respective performers and they had a 2d animation fuel to them with pretty fluid animation.

The guy at d23 said that this was only a prototype but believe that with their brand they could basically use this to create a new industry standard
 
I was also going to add video game companies have tried vtubing with their characters as well…

All they’d have to do would be to have Olaf or Elsa stream themselves talking.

They already have a bank worth of songs they can sing when they go live and they’d be able to pay to cover any song they wanted.

I don’t think it would be as astroturfed. It will just be the only vtubers allowed on YT Kids.

Like I genuinely can't think of vtubers as anything else than classic troonism. Running themselves online like a brand; obsession with sex and sex-based humor, and living with a goal of becoming 'superior' in way of others calling them mommy or muscle-whatever. I genuinely can't relate their behavior to any other group than troons and young adults alike living at home.

As far as I know, Buffpup is an actual chick. She’s posted gym gain picks before, face hidden and she has that “fat girl who hit the bench press” look.

You are right, I totally forgot that 10 year olds have credit card access nowdays.

In my defense that is the most retarded parenting idea, so it never even entered my mind.

I can imagine the suits already after little Jane just subbed 5000 times in a single stream and superchatted single Winey Mommy's entire bank account clean out.

They’ll likely restrict the YT Kids app in how much it can donate if that happens. Naybe allow them to join as a Member but not send any more money. So it becomes like a subscription service.

Knowing current Disney and modern LA tech companies they'll fuck it up. I wouldn't be surprised if the rigging on the models are ass or if the 3D models are bad and look unrendered like Wish. Maybe if we're lucky they'll try to use an AI that ends up being as bad as Google's AI Overview so it tells kids to eat rocks and jump off the Golden Gate Bridge.

The horrifying thought is that kids are a relatively untapped market for vtubers as far as I am aware.
And you know they'd go for that market.
They could even AI mickey's voice and just have some random joe act out birthday greetings etc for money.
