General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

What a send off.

It's kinda important to know the timing of this. She did this minecraft stream in September of 2022, near the height of #DropKiwiFarms but I don't think before we booted off of Cloud Flare.
The funniest part to me is later in the stream when Shiina's png in the corner crapped out and showed a CloudFlare error screen for a minute, then they make a joke about how CloudFlare just dropped them.

YouTube's always been shit but this past year it seems to have gotten noticeably worse. I can't remember the last stream I watched that didn't have some sort of problem. If you use AdBlock, open up the logger when watching a stream and you'll see it instantly fill with tons of blocked shit. Even closing chat or turning off AdBlock doesn't seem to be much help anymore.

Maybe I was missing something by not watching it live, or perhaps this is to do with Ame's change to whatever the hell "affiliate" is rather than a true graduation, but I feel that Sana's sendoff stream was way better.

Has nothing to do with watching live, details regarding "affiliate" status is as vague as it was over a week ago. And yeah Sana's definitely had more structure to it.

pedantic, redditor Kronii constantly going "Ackhually..." to some of Ame's fish choices for the aquarium

People noticing now that the map is public that some quick fixes have been added addressing Kronii's criticisms lol

She's not streaming anymore, she's not becoming staff, she can still appear in peoples songs or projects, and she might fully return to streaming "someday" but said to not build hopes based on that.

It's not really vague so much as people keep trying to interoperate it to mean more and more as a method of hope/cope.

It's a smart move for hololive to take as their quarterly reports have shown that IP licensing has been becoming a bigger and bigger part of their business strategy and profits. So doing things this way, in a way that doesn't effectively kill the character IP of the departing member, makes sense.

Which is very funny because the same people on cope are the ones that say Holo has too much work and should free up their talents more.

It seems very obvious Ame wants to do more stuff and have less red tape while still being able to do big events. But Cover and her probably did not feel right with doing this without telling people.

People frequently forget that there is more to Holo than streaming.

It seems like most of the resources went into the charity stream. It was also odd how much she sang for someone who cant sing. She also mentioned the fact that singing (idol stuff) wasn't really a thing when they first joined which seemed to hint at her motivation for leavimg, since it seemed out of place to bring it up. When unfiction started playing and it turned out she really was singing alone and there was no surprise it seemed disappointing.
