General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Is uwo's lab considered a,vtuber? He calls himself one but hes more like a static png with a pair of meat hands. I wanna post about him but I dunno if he's vtuber enough to do it here but hes also too anime adjacent to do it elsewhere on this site.

Im stuck in some weird autistic posting limbo. I just wanna post about funny science mans antics

I'd say he counts as a vtuber since he was nominated for the vtuber awards if that means anything lol

Awards have no meaning at all

This Pekora/Vivi bonding arc is really sweet. Pekora dragged her into her tnt shenanigans with Subaru and helped her get her first Elytra. And now she's saved her from losing all her hard earned stuff

At the very least he is a pngtuber so that's close enough. Plus he collabs with enough vtubers anyways so it makes sense to discuss him. Some of his crazy science experiment streams have been really enjoyable.

@Not Who You Think

"Curious about one: Ouro Kronii.
Trying to understand the particulars of her appeal, or at least why she seems to be promoted so much. Have some guesses after reviewing her content, but would prefer to hear from others. Reasons can be positive or negative. Just looking for clarity from someone who knows."

Unless you are going to want to learn about the Japanese side of vtubing and the general culture that comes from Hololive the answer is she has a nice voice. She's not promoted more or less then any other Holo, certainly not here. Holo is mostly "cute girls doing cute things".

If you want to learn about JP, can't get more general then Nijisanji and they are having a festival this weekend
The size of the exhibit is around the size of the White House
Easy to see who they attract as fans if you use the hashtag - #にじフェス2025

Feel free to look at their financials and general company structure to get an idea of how most vtubing companies in JP run

Otherwise watch Phase Connect, they are popular around here and are an EN company with mostly EN vtubers. A lot of people like this one
Same channel has other clips. If you liked Iron Mouse for her singing and crude humor watch this one

Can't forget Hayase Yu. I appreciate a JP woman who is goofy.

I'm too lazy to find the clip, but she said she likes the pregnant meme of her because it means people find her attractve enough to knock up.

I doubt as an indo she's morbidly obese, so she probably has low self esteem and doesn't want some dirty SEA nigger, who would rape a dog if given the chance.

She actually has her face out there. She's not obese or fat at all. Will fetch later if someone doesn't post it before me

goodbye Ollie enjoy the rope you fucking mongoloid. If anyone uses pronouns they deserve the rope. Never liked ID because IDN is full of sub-humans anyways. no fcking clue why they included THAT blackhole of savagery in Hololive.

I hate most South East Asian countries . Japan and Korea good.
Can you even read? Or did you just see the slash between two words above her name and crash out? Fairly obvious playing into not taking the pronoun shit seriously or making a joke out of it with Ollie/Ollie's.

Never watched Tomoe before but I know a few people in the thread like her; apparently War Thunder autists were going schizo on her during her last stream?

Her first mistake was committing to the US tree, but War Thunder invites giga backseating and people getting angry for her not playing well, which is what happened. (Though going into a tubers chat expecting good gameplay is a litmus test itself).

Ollie's fat, she showed her face in reflection on stream once.
So is Kirsche, but it doesn't stop people from rollling in the slop with her.

Looking to be outraged over anything. Like a vTuber or not for whatever reason, but why care about their politics unless that's what they stream about which very, very few do. You're in for a rude awakening otherwise.

Getting back to actual discussion, who looks like they're going to have a promising 2025? In Phase, 2024 was definitely Himemiya Rie's year. She progressed a lot and really put in a lot of work. I can see Wemi and Panko having a big year if they can put time into it as far as that generation. I think Runie will have a breakthrough at her pace too as far as Phase. Speaking of Uwoslab, I've been seeing people who don't know anything about vtubers into his content lately. Undoubtedly, his content could get massively popular more than it already is.

Gatekeeping is good.
I'm reminded of an old post I made
If gatekeeping worked in that way retards like Mana mentioned on the last page would have been run off a long time ago. If it worked people like Froot would be long gone, or Artemis. But it doesn't, because they only need a small number of supporters to sustain them. content creation and streaming is a wide open market and you can't "keep people out" if there's people that want to watch them, they will. And here's the twist. That's a good thing, because that's the same shit that sustains people like Pippa when the internet tries to cancel her for the 40th time. That lets someone like Sayu start to bounce back after Niji deletes them.

You're not gonna gatekeep people out of vtubing, but you can keep supporting the ones you DO enjoy to ensure there's still somewhere for you to go and someone for you to watch even if other people you don't like start partaking of the hobby.

Imo Iori is finally getting some of the recognition she deserves, hopefully it continues throughout 2025 (altho i doubt it will). Runie is my definite prediction for who'll blow up next, seems like it always happens that one of the talents carries the rest of the gen like Shiina and Pippa. Jerry and Panko also seem to be promising.
