Why would t hey do anything to stop it? They don't go after artists who draw porn of the talents, or sell doujins of the talents at comiket, this is just that but as JAV.

As autistic as Japan generally is about fair use and IP rights it's basically baked in as a cultural norm that the rights holders look the other way with stuff like this as it essentially serves as free advertisement for them. Gacha games thrive off of people making porn of their characters, stuff like Genshin, Fate, or even Overwatch in the west indirectly build brand recognition because gooners know their characters from porn.

The only time I've seen a JP company take issue with it is whatever that one horse girl game is, because the girls are all based on actual racing horses and the owners of those horses don't like being associated with porn shit and the company wants to maintain good relations with those owners to keep getting permission for new characters.

Double posting to not batch this in with the gooner commentary.
Mori's sololive was last night in Hollywood, first Sololive from Holo outside of Japan to a sold out 4k audience. Which is smaller than sololives pull in Japan but credit where it's due selling out a Vtuber concert of that size, on a wednesday, In the states where it's a lot less simple than in Japan where people can just hop a train to tokyo for an afternoon and make a day trip out of it. And right before holofes when a lot of North American fans who would be willing to take several days off for travel and accommodations are going to prefer to just go to Japan for fes where they'll see Mori anyway. Is a solid feat and hopefully provides some good leverage for future concerts outside of Japan Mori or otherwise.

Show was great, 22 song setlist with a 4 song Encore because of course Mori will always go hard on her live shows. Having a live band really adds a ton to the music.

Other minor mentions are a designer Holo did a collab with to do Shirts for Mori and Nerissa has his "I finally made it' moment when he found out people had bootleg'd his shirt designs and were trying to sell them on the street outside the venue

As well as a cute moment where Mori shouted out all the Holo's who were hosting watchalongs of the concert by name, including Riona from the newest JP group Flowglow who promptly turned into a sobbing puddle for the next 3 songs because Mori called out to her on the show (Riona got into rap and joined hololive because of Mori)
(should be timestamped at her reaction if not it's linked in the top comment)

And lastly just after the show a new original song released from her and Lotus Juice, produced by the same guy that did a lot of Persona and SMT's music. The song itself is out already but the MV for it drops later tonight so if you were a fan of the music from those games this song will be right up your alley, it's literally if someone asked "what if Persona 3 music had Mori in it"

there's obviously no reason to assume a new gen is coming but It wouldn't be outside the realm of possibility. Flowglow got announced just over a year after ReGloss. Justice got announced just under a year after Advent.

And Justice will be having it's 1 year anniversary in June so that 1 year threshold isn't far off. But also we know that sometimes these gens get put together and sit waiting in the wings for months to a year waitingfor debut time. and I just think that if there were a new gen forming behind the scenes, Milky would be a great pickup for them.

Don't get me wrong I don't have a problem with her or think that she isn't talented or whatever (I don't know anything about her personality or content, just listened to some of her songs though) but isn't she big enough to be successful on her own? I like the idea of the classic idol journey when small(er), unknown diamonds in the rough get the chance to grow with time and finally shine brightly on stage. Nepotism isn't bad per se but I'm just not a big fan of it since it's kind of lazy. I want them to find the hidden gems out there.
But when I checked her channels I was surprised that she only has 13k subs on youtube and 25k subs on twitch. I thought she had a much bigger following but she only averaged 80 viewers on twitch over the past year.

Speaking of, it's interesting; I remember of all the Justice members, people seemed to be most hype for Elizabeth but she seems to be a bit quieter in terms of collabs and growth than Gigi, Raora or even Ceci. Wonder if it's timezone related or what, she obviously has an amazing singing voice but didn't seem to break out into the stratosphere like I kinda assumed she would.

I chock it up to two things, she doesn't actually stream a lot of games people care about, mostly just karaoke, and unarchived at that (which can be good for momentary content but doesn't leave a lot of content out there for people to consume in what many consider to be her wheelhouse). That and her actual music releases have been somewhat slow for someone who's strong point is her singing voice. She is still as of now the most subbed member of the gen, but Raora has been slowly but steadily gaining on her for a while now.

She still has the highest sub count of her gen, followed by "mommy", gremlin, and CC bringing up the rear, which is honestly a travesty because she works her ass off and is super creative and funny. But I guess "omg mommy" energy is still king I guess. Fucking coomers.

Where is this "fucking coomers mommy bias" you speak of. The one EN member that people genuinely called "mommy" was Fauna, and she was the least subbed of her gen. Raora just gets called that in part because of the whole "haha Italian Mama Mia, she's mama"
