General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Now it's getting sus, and to be honest not from V&U's end this time.

Was just about to post. You think they all got poached?

They both said V&U is going in a different direction in terms of content or strategy, which is fine, that's just the way it goes. Outside of Alien Mixture it seemed like they had all the bases covered and they stopped pushing new gens with AAA club, which was good, everyone has their niche. The company is owned by some korean animation studio that does cartoon shows and seemed to have made the models and such for mocap R&D, this is also why they made the UNUniverse shorts similar to the Hololive shorts.

Maybe they want to actually start doing concerts or more things in 3D model (Zelli seems to use hers a lot), but we're up to 3 ladies leaving now, and frankly staggering it comes across as a very drama way of doing it. I hate to say it this way because I like the talents but it feels like a MeToo style of attack. If they all show up somewhere else that makes this even more messed up.

If Liora leaves, then that makes me wonder about V&U proper. If anyone was to leave V&U I thought it would be Penelope Wiseman, as she hasn't posted in months and just does piano/karaoke and Teamfight Tactics streams, but she seems to be local in Korea and might be employed there in the backend.

When she said that if there was a way to have your daily food in some sort of paste, she would buy it I was like "wtf?! You're Chinese, you should love cooking".

Not even the gooks are safe from having their brains rotted away

Sakana finally made his move, Phase Patriots are in control. Trust the plan.

Makes sense honestly, expensive merch, marketed to a small in group, unavailable for purchase in lots of countries, sold by a small V tuber.

A Gura themed pistol would be lucky to sell enought to break even.

Does anyone know what they were looking to sell exactly? Hydro-dipped guns or something entirely custom?
I saw the Socks announcement about them withdrawing the idea, but nothing about what it was in the first place.

A pity that’s not going forward, I think it would have been neat to see, but as others have mentioned it probably would have been a money pit.
Only way it would work is super limited runs, in custom colorways like CS:GO skins. Like 10-25 per run tops, just as advertising pieces. Find a Cerakoat guy w who would take the commission, and use an available factory gun of acceptable quality, like Armscor/RIA or something.

KTactical could probably have helped them out, they’ve done a bunch of weird and weeb stuff in the past. Ridiculous prices but there must be a market for it.

Never before have I been so frustrated at my country not letting us have guns until I saw this 60 seconds ago

Americans, hold your (chicken-)guns close

I wonder how much inside information she has and how much of what she is stating here is truly what is happening within Cover… or if this is just speculation and assumptions.
She's still "social" with the JP girls at a minimum, there have been a few open mentions of meeting for lunch and similar in the last year or so. She probably knows exactly what's up.
