I'd encourage you to try, you might be pleasantly surprised but don't quit your day job and don't bet the farm.

Don't take it seriously, don't rely on it for money, do not engage with parasocial fans and expect other VTubers to use you for their own gain.

Get a Jpeg for a character. Just roll with it. You don't need fancy shit like a 2k model etc. If your personality shines through you're good to go and people will support you.

If you did anything stupid on the internet that can be linked to your irl identity, I suggest not to do it. If you don't, I say go for it but:
1. Do NOT spend ludicrous amounts of cash on a model
2. Do NOT forget to stream at a semi-regular pace
3. If you're cute, apply for Phase Connect

99% of the battle is just streaming. You don't have to stream long hours, but be consistent and be interesting. Streaming silently into the void or in a monotone voice doesn't work.

Whatever problems you have generally going online isn't the way to address them, they will typically amplify them. If you are hell bent on the idea keep the conversation light if you start deep diving into your psyche it will probably end badly. Also just don't take it too seriously, the vtubing market is massively over saturated.

You should do it! Just remember the chance of succeeding is pretty low, and most vtubers are in stuck in 2-view purgatory for a long time. And remember as appealing as it is to whore out for attention, it's really not worth it in the long run.
