General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

I am unable to archive it for some reasons, but someone just posted Vshoujo's pitch deck for 2025, and it revealed quite a lot of things, like how it's shown they're losing a lot of money and until the implosion they still couldn't make any profits at all. The cherry on top was the pitch deck featured irl photos for some of their talents (poster have removed it however)

What's another interesting thing is that this pitch deck also highlighted one of their senior staff by the name Alex Kiyoshi Pelz, who worked as the Director of the VShoujo Japan. Now why this guy caught everyone's attention was that he used to worked at Cover from 2021 to 2024, after which he moved to VShoujo. Coincidentally, just a few days ago, Kaho Shibuya tweeted about a VTuber agency staff being rude and also doxing his own talents. Many immediately realised she was talking about a VShoujo staff. However she also noted that the guy moved to VShoujo from another nothed agency just last year, which fit the timeline of this Alex Kiyoshi fella moving to VShoujo

Another thing to add is that now a lot of people have created a rrat that this guy might also be the guy behind the faggot Omega because he (claimed) he was the one behind a lot of HoloEN decisions during the same period of time. However, even if he's not the Omega, he might also be responsible for how shitty the HoloEN management was before the Dimitri guy took over and created Advent and Justice

Man, the talent has every right to be pissed off with VShojo, but the drama surrounding has quickly gotten fucking exhausting, at the end of the day we just wanna watch our hot anime women wearing cute outfits and playing vidya, we watch Vtubers because we wanna escape how shit the real world is, and dramafags on twitter just shit on it.

The planned 2.3 million in IP licensing after a 80/20 with the talents who are the actual IP holders seems off. Claiming to be #1 outside of Japan is also a bold statement given that Hololive lives rent free in their head.

Null's oshi is reenacting Keijo and holding a butt sumo tournament. Irys and Iofi are EN/ID representives.

I've received a gift and I'm throwing caution to the wind and posting it here, because it depicts a certain failed company's CTO taking a can of beer and doing... Something. I don't have any idea how far back this comes from but I know it's pre-Twitch and came out of somebody's stream. I can see why things were run so well.

Legit though, every time new vtuber corpo drama arises the non-binary 13 year olds on twitter have to crawl out of the woodwork to cry about how horrible the corpo's actions were and to virtue signal how much of a good person they apparently are because they now dislike that corpo, they don't realize most of us watch Vtubers specifically to escape from people like them, when they pretend to give a shit about Ironmouse or Kson it disgusts me to an unhealthy degree

No she accidentally called her cali on a stream. She didn't leak it because everyone already knew, people were there because shes cali, its not a secret its just something shes not allowed to talk about
Calli's had a couple accidents from doing stuff with Mouse on both accounts. There was what you just mentioned, but also another time where she was doing something with mouse as Demondice, and joined VC, and you know how a lot of streamers have the little discord overlay where when someone joins a PNG appears on screen to represent them and lights up when they talk. Well when Demondice joined the call, a PNG of Calli appeared on screen, causing mouse to panic and quickly hide it.

It was already stated here, but back in the 1960s a French film called Find the Idol released in Japan, and became such a national sensation that it ended up creating a lifelong obsession that the country had with France, and simultaneously cause Japan to want to implement idols into their culture.

It was so ravenous that many down on their luck French singers would often go to Japan where they would find major success just because they were French.

From there idols were basically used as a form of escapism or symbols of Hope, and in Japan whenever you do have a career that is regarded highly you are expected to perform that role to the utmost degree least you risk being looked down upon.

Pretty messed up and kind of extends beyond just idols because it happens with Mangaka, politicians, and even voice actors
Where are they now? Do you have any names. Manga and anime are huge jn france now. I can see why this would work

Charity embezzlement is not drama. Vtubing community seems to have a verh limited vocab. Neither is cancel culture. If you are a victim you are stirring up drama. No one else says this

Now? It's been the case for some time now, since at least the 2000's, I can recall learning about la Francophonie as part of French language studies and the textbooks boasting of the work of French expats in Japanese animation.

The Alex guy posted a statement on LinkedIn Archive Basically says he is not Omega, he got brought in to help fix issues at HoloEN and he got rid of Omega.

we just wanna watch our hot anime women wearing cute outfits and playing vidya,
I kind of like seeing pieces of shit dragged out into the open that are exploiting people in the industry.
And its looking like VShojo was a bunch of tech bro sex pests who started a company with their coomer washed up former lawyer friend and his sex worker GF.
It's really quite funny.
I just hope it drags this idea of a for talent corp into the mud. Feely good shit is always a fraud company in the end.
I, for one, find this drama quite interesting, because new twists and turns just keep popping up. This is probably going to be the vtuber drama of the year.
We still got 5 months something else could explode even worse.
I'm still betting on Bao getting caught up in the Pirate Software turmoil.

Its considered bad and strange to western standards because Japanese corporate work culture (i.e. salarymen) is pretty much feudal. They hire large batches of fresh grads with the expectation of "lifetime employment". Youre expected to be absolutely loyal to your employer. For example, even if the work day is over, if your manager hasn't left, you can't really leave. These companies only promote from within and by seniority. Of course you're evaluated by performance, but you're also expected to uphold that infamous Japanese conformity/consensus, even after hours. If you put in your notice to quit, you'll be harassed, inteminated etc. the younger generation has started to pay people to quit for them, they deal with the paperwork, property, and the harassment. "Overwork death" is a legitimate public health issue.
I always figured that's why Japanese counter culture movements were always so different from the mainstay and themselves.

it's a rejection of what makes modern Japan modern Japan, whether it's Yanquis that want to be American Rednecks, the weirdo Japanese biker clubs that still act like they're teenagers despite being in their 30s, or the Japanese truckers and their tricked out rigs.

an interesting read, However I still have to wonder if he's the guy Shibuya Kaho mentioned as doxing talent as he fits perfectly into her rather specific description of the person having gone to Vshojo from another vtuber agency. and I don't know of any other staff they had that crossed over.

KSON is about the only tolerable vTumor because she's all into the "its just a fictional character" by doing shit like this with no-makeup face streams.

I think people simping camgirls is also cringe, but at least you have a concept of what you're actually simping for.
that's almost all of them tho, they don't think "I AM that character!". the reason they don't facecam is either they are not allowed or don't want to to keep the kayfabe up. or, let's face it, some don't have the looks to sell themselves via e-thottery (and lot don't want to).

think about it, there are petabytes of anime tiddies on the internet and these days you can prompt an LLM to generate petabytes more for you. so why do people simp for a cute animu gril? what's the selling point? can't be the looks then. people don't listen to kirsche tangent for hours because they want to pork her, there must be another reason.
a kaceytron vtuber would crash and burn, since the character is little more than the box cover. at the same time for a lot of people anime tiddies don't activate the neurons like pokimane's thicc thights do, which is why the usual e-thottery only has limited effect to begin with.

point is vtubing is a different form of entertainment, even if it just looks like "streaming with a png" it doesn't really work this way, so it has to be judged differently. same way streaming is different from talk radio which is different from a Q&A with your favorite celebrity asf.

this was from a year ago
but there is a new clip of chibidoki about a week ago posted where she dreamt of Fillian, Pippa and etc.
but she still pronounce "Pippa" as "Peepa"

could be a thing between Chibidoki and Pippa.

EDIT: I tried to add the clip that happened like 10 seconds before this where Chibi keeps pronouncing Peepa and ask Pippa how to pronounce it, then clarified Pippa's Old hence Peepa.

but it wont upload.

Im sorry. I have failed you all.

I get it, Gunrun deserves everything coming to him, for me personally it’s just exhausting some new shit comes out about a Vtuber company every couple months and Tweens start their outrage cycle again, then again that’s been a lot of things for me lately not just Vtubers

Wait, so all those times when people were meme-ing about this or that vtuber banging because they met irl, they actually WERE banging? I thought this was just jokes and fans jumping to conclusions. I guess that means Vedal did fuck all the neuroverse girls and not just one, seeing as he's 6'4.

I don't see how this is a bad thing, in fact I think this should be the standard worldwide for every industry. If you land a position at the top of an industry, and you are not performing at a rate that warrants that kind of salary, why should you be allowed to rest on your laurels as opposed to being replaced by someone who will work harder? We don't extend that kind of courtesy to basic wagies, why should we for managers and top earners?

Paranoia Agent is an anime that explains the issue pretty well.

On paper, that sounds like a great idea, but in practice it effectively means that Japan is built a culture around "shut up and take it" which allows bad actors to basically do as they please because it's better to just accept a silent purgatory than to potentially rock the boat and upset others.

I remember a long time ago, I was talking to this guy that ran a YouTube name Nobita-Japan, and he basically wasn't favor of train molestation of women and told the audience that it's sort of a way for guys to relieve themselves after A hard Day's work and it's incredibly common.

The same goes for the hellish work culture that a lot of companies like Mappa put their employees through or when the director of Korokoro Connect had an up-and-coming VA humiliated at various events because he felt like he was encroaching on his territory ( Seiyuu Eri Kitamura).

This isn't unique to Japan technically, but it is uniquely localized over there that makes it unbearable.

The best way I can say is that Japan had a reaction to French culture the way most of us probably reacted when we saw anime for the first time.

I haven't checked up on any of the parties involved, but I imagine that French and European culture has been absorbed so fully into Japanese art that I don't even think younger locals would even be aware of where things like Bishounen originated from.
