General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Oh. I saw the logic flying right through the window.
So I guess it just surfed on the VTuber wave in order to get easy money.

Others have posted other reasons, but I would also add that most of the stuff talked about (REALLY high quality rig, tons of advertisements/word of mouth) point towards a trust fund kid who bought a bunch of influence/follows via throwing money around and being an alphabet person with SonicFox levels of "I'M GAY" posting, while having a personality of wet cardboard and generally being an attention whore.
With PorkeyDuck's link, by the "dead inside" tone I heard, that's the kind of idea I had too.

Why yes there is a reason

Nijisanji isn't known outside of fucking Japan, of course they get less superchats, most of the Holo whales are western weebs with too much free time, plus Hololive not only is an actual idol agency, but it's fucking colossal outside of Japan, of course their songs are more highly regarded

Just to clarify, may have said it before idk my memory is bad, I like Hololive more than Niji, or well I watch them way more, I just took the opportunity to see if I could clear up so many damn misconceptions that seem to have become accepted from what I read pretty much like 100 pages back

Nijisanji isn't quantity over quality, if you think it is then Hololive also is quantity over quality since they have pretty much the same recruitment requirements, with perhaps the main difference that Holos need to be able to sing a bit? The only vtuber agencies that would be quality over quantity would be the relatively unknown ones that have like 5 massively talented vtubers under them, like say HoneyStrap. I mean Holo has 43 fucking talents on it's main branch if we include the stars, "Nijisanji has more" doesnt mean shit when considering Nijisanji has more resources and Japanese chicks and bois (probably failed internet personalities) eager to audition for them and then they put a lot of fucking work into their characters, rigging and eventual outfits that a majority seem to have.

Actually curious where this "quantity over quality" thing came from, is it just because they have way more members?

You can not watch Nijisanji for any reason you feel like naming, who cares, it's your time, but why say random bullshit about them
That's just, like, my opinion, man. No need to blast diarrhea all over the keyboard over it. To me, Hololive is higher quality than Nijisanji, and more fun to watch and support, just due to raw musical talent and overall entertainment ability. That's it. It ain't personal, and I ain't stating anything that isn't on a chart somewhere already as fact.

Also don't forget watching the illegal Twitch simulcast of Beyond The Stage and trying to shimmy-shake out of it when screencapped and confronted.

and then akasupa'ing Holos like 5-6 times in the past month, confirming the troon could have paid for BtS to support them that way but I guess just didn't want to, lol.

I've heard the same, Nijisanji is way larger than Hololive in Japan and/or makes way more $$. Ichikara is much larger than Cover. Sure Coco is the most superchatted youtuber, but that doesn't mean much when Nijisanji gets all of the corporate sponsorships. My mental image is that Nijisanji is like Gura, larger audience but is more casual normie and higher overall views.
TBF its not only coco who rakes in money with the superchat. Talents like rushia, pekora, aqua and marine gets a fuck tons of SC. There is like 8/10 hololive in top SC. I think this members who gets fucktons of super chat have no problem selling their merch.

But i agree that nijisanji is still bigger than hololive in jpn.

Here's what I could find about Reine. I joined a smaller Discord server and there's some Indonesians digging Reine's past. They found out that she is extremely toxic, constantly swearing while playing games and etc. This means that what @Rezza said regarding her connections to toxic Indonesian elitist weebs is true. Below is a picture of her. Sadly, I couldn't find more stuff about her because the people in the server are getting scared and they nuked the channel. I wonder which conglomerate is her parents.

"Took part in the making of the Konosuba movie"? Interesting, i wonder in what aspect?

But i need more evidence of Reine being toxic than her just swearing when playing video games

edit: Though then again...there was that thing in her debut where she commented on the bio that Hololive gave for her character, where she said "I don't know who wrote this, but im not emotional"

Im willing to bet that this could have been a Keeki situation where she used to be immature in the past but decides to rebrand as a classier, elegant Vtuber

Only the beginning part of my shitty rant was directed at you brudda, it was mostly me mad at people saying that Nijisanji's business model is straight up quantity over quality.

Sorry for the bother, was just a bit livid at that specifically

Rushia gets a fuckload of money considering how few people watch her (compared to Pekora, Miko or Aqua)

Well, it's not exactly wrong when in fact they have a huge number of talents in their company thay dwarfs all of their competition, with tons of different branches and unit as well

Like I said, unless that huge amount is achieved through extremely rushed interviews, designs and rigging, I don't see how "big number" implies "Quantity over quality"
They have the resources and applicants to have a lot of talents, all with relatively good and unique designs and really good live2D rigging, that isn't quantity over quality

I was wondering why I was seeing new rates on my blue mouthed shark post.

Was a few pages behind.

On another note, I really need to up my Minecraft architecture game, I get increasingly more jealous of Flare's design skills every time I see it.

And here my dumbass is that decided to stick to modded, and have barely moved up from doing Direwolf20-style cobblestone boxes.

But like no shit though. All ID girls are obviously rich as fuck how do they even think the girls bought the gear necessary to stream to begin with? ID isn't a country where having a laptop is common thing. Getting afraid now is just autism.
I dont think the knife loli is rich aswell. I remember seeing her debut stream and she said she wanted proper equipment for streaming.

Yeah, sorry about that, I saw your post with the help of PorkeyDuck because I didn't noticed it the first time I flew through the pages in order to get the big picture.
So yeah, now I have the replies I was seeking for, thank y'all.

Piggybacking on the Artemis stuff, I think there's a certain portion of vtuber viewers who are only "fans" in that they like the design and the idea, then just view all the clips as youtube recommends them to keep up with the jokes. I see plenty of love for Artemis, but there doesn't seem to be much talk besides her design and sexual preference. I certainly don't see her clipped as much. I feel like most of her fans fill in the gaps based on those two things.

Tamaki is one of those Nijisanji livers I want to get to know more, after I've read this horrifying Reddit thread.
Not to mention she dislocated her jaw at least 3 times (two times in one stream where she was able to put it back into place and one during a collab where they had to end it early because she couldn't put her jaw back into place) that I'm aware of and had shitty internet as well. I say had because I haven't kept up with her in a while so idk if that's changed or not. She also did a stream shortly after one of her 5 cats was suspected to have died. She said that it was ill and was "taken away." I saw part of that stream and she "went to the bathroom" for an extended period of time so it's suspected that she left the stream to go cry. She's just known to have very bad luck.

Dont forget about that time where she fell asleep on stream for 5 hours and was bombarded with superchats.

God...I feel sorry for the poor girl. May she get many happy moments with her friends and colleagues in order to overcome such horrible memories.
