General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

I have to say, watching the Valentine’s streams make me realize that these girls have this thing figured OUT.

Like, they’re making beautiful candy for themselves and their audience is acting as though they’re being given gifts. These girls are having their cake and literally eating it too, and people are paying them for the privilege.
Boy you really are slow

Damn, that Hajimete No Chuu rendition activated my gachikoi instincts. Good shit, Gura.

Edit: The fuck? That Gura duet came out of nowhere. So far one of her best karaoke streams.

Sadly this isn't unique to Japan, you can guarantee every country has incidents of women reporting stalking and harassment, being told there isn't much that can be done and then being assaulted or even killed.

Honestly Vtubing seems to be a double edged sword for this, on the one hand you don't show your face and can limit what people see but that ends up making people more determined to find things out.
The bigger issue with Vtubing is when a performer accidentally exposes themselves. There was that one Subaru stalker or something from a while back, I think, and they ended up outside Kiara's house? The performers still have to be careful about what they do in the real world since some of their voices are so distinct and they don't put on a character. Like, even if you aren't someone as distinct looking as Karen (A blonde obviously American woman) or Keeki (a fucking redhead) some of the girls have to be careful about laughing too loudly or else someone might pick up on who they are. Pekora got warned about that by holofantasy when out to lunch or something with them since her laugh is not put on at all, she genuinely sounds like that when giddy...and then people familiar with the rest of them would be able to piece together that Marine's the babyface with the big ass and Noel is the one with a massive rack; and this is without knowing their facedox.

It might actually make things easier with lower numbers, but even for someone like Roberu, he very rarely talks about his personal life and what he does outside of streaming and trashing his living space with porn and takeout boxes.

In some cases they explicitly state they're making them for their friends. Haachama has the decency to not cook food for her colleagues but Kiara was explicitly making chocolates for Calli on her stream. The others just do it for fun since it's a Japanese tradition or they just feel like it, and they'll say "I'm giving these to my brother/dad" or something similar. Gura had a stream where she cooked meatloaf and Amelia made candied yams for Thanksgiving. There wasn't really a reason to put on the kayfabe of "sharing with the gachikoi" since they really just state they're doing it because they felt like it or because it's a tradition from their home life.

I don't normally like watching most of Gura's streams, but her karaoke streams are always great. That Lost Boys rendition was top tier. If you aren't watching, you missing out.

That stalker thing is just a narrative from 4chan

Plus if you're just watching the clips you're missing out out on the chatting between the songs, which is often quite entertaining.

She has over 47k watching right now.

Edit: She's doing The Wellerman

So if people remember Kyuotto from...months ago, she was the one who got a bunch of hate from the ENVytuber scene who thought she was pedobait since all they saw was her model.

She's debuting now and she's definitely not playing up the way her model looks and only decided on it because she personally likes the aesthetic. From what I can tell she's a much more relaxed person than her model would indicate. Her viewcount is also staggeringly high for a debut, so I guess she genuinely can thank her haters for giving her more traction than she could get on her own. If anyone is interested, here she is.
