Adding to this, I assume with Holo Alternative nearing completion, I suspect there is no space for the Haachama lore with what YAGOO and Cover originally envisioned.

Not to feed the troll, but this actually got me thinking about what I saw some ENvytubers say on Twitter.

On a surface level, you can easily say "Oh it's just those damn corporations making up this entire thing up to milk lonely people" or "They're just actors who are reading off a script", because let's be honest, some corporations have done more fucked up stuff for less.

But when you delve deeper into Hololive, you start seeing that that's bullshit. I doubt Cover has enough man power to constantly write scripts and record gameplay for 30+ people of multiple languages and timezones, on top of coordinating everyone's social media and marketing. Not to mention from what we know of some of their roomates, many of them don't actually play the character and just live stream normally (Miko's voice really is that weird). Some of them do play up their character (Mori), or change the pitch in their voice (Coco, Kiara), but most of them are just regular ass streamers doing whatever (Botan, Noel, Flare, Subaru).

What I'm trying so say here, is that it's very easy for an outsider who doesn't know much about Hololive or vtubers to just go "Those are men" or "That's just a corporation paying actors", and having that negative mindset for something as innocent as vtubing is really fucking sad and pathetic.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going back to look at Noel's roomate's massive milkers.

You'll never convince some people that it's nothing but kayfabe. Some folk literally think it's all scripted and the girls don't even actually like each other. No use arguing, let them be miserable.

Honestly, the only kayfabe are the fantastical/played-up situations, like (and I've used this example half a million times by now) the Shion/Marine tit-groping fiesta. But as I said many pages ago, it all comes down to what you want to believe. You wanna live in fantasyland? Go ahead. You wanna be a fuddy-duddy and scoff at anything cute as "manufactured?" Boring as shit but, once again, go ahead. The truth is in the middle, as with most things.

Yes but no. A lot of the girls promised back at the turn of the new year that they wanted to get better at English here in 2021. They're hamming it up a bit for the stream's sake, but they really do want to learn. Everyone's path to language-learning is different too, so you can't go by what one person is doing. Duolingo is kinda memey and bad as a singular education tool, but it's really good for learning very basic phrases and words, so someone like Noel who said she flunked English in school should start there. Meanwhile, Marine is taking legitimate English classes online because she wants to get a lot better, a lot quicker, and she is. No matter what, it's nice they're putting in the effort.

Speaking of, I need to find a way to take legit Japanese lessons online; solo study is fine but nothing beats sitting and learning from someone else.

I mentioned this earlier but I imagine a lot of them are thinking about their futures beyond Hololive and figure that having some competency in English will make it easier to advance their careers in the entertainment industry (especially if they want to move into management). Plus they have a captive army of simps to practice with. It's a really good opportunity.
