Tim Rogers has been called a faggot here already and not without a reason, but there is one thing from his content that I love: his "retranslation" series of Final Fantasy VII on YouTube. I knew FF7 was translated poorly, but he was able to show how much I have missed from the Japanese original. After watching his series in one sitting I literally started learning hiragana the next day. And then, when searching for a listening material, I found out about vtubers and I've found this thread eventually, so you can say that I am here because of Tim Ro... oh okay, he's a faggot.
I have tried to get into this series a couple of times: through demos on 3DS and Switch, I even bought MH3 Ultimate on Wii U, but it just doesn't click for me. I don't really like the rapid transitions between areas and hitting a monster like it's a piece of frozen meat, until a "wounded" animation triggers. The series is fine I guess, but not for me - maybe someday.
