I will never understand the appeal of someone using tts in the market where one of the major points of attraction is the way character speaks.
There are some creators who exclusively use tts in other media I follow and exude personality out of every orifice but here, plus all the baggage, I just fail to see the point.

Lots of people know about the farms, especially if they are in a certain age category, just as those people might also know about ED. That is a far, far cry from even just visiting and reading, though, nevermind being a member. I think just sort of half-assuming that comes across as a bit egocentric - taking oneself more important than one is.

Personally, I hold no ill will towards Kiara, I just think her behaviour is kind of a shame: When she is funny, she is really funny, but when she is cringe, she is really cringe, and that happens definitely more often, and watching that is just embarrassment-by-proxy for me. So it's a bit of a waste. Large part of it is probably not her inherent personality, but just the shtick she has as a character, but the end result is still the same.

She's a mixed bag of things that nippon men consider unorthodox. She sounds butch, holds her ground in the rap game as Calli, isn't afraid to challenge vtubing norms by trying to push the boundaries of what's allowed (despite being shut down by management), drinks a lot and can hold her fucking liquor.

And depending on whether they dipped into her roommate persona - there's not a lot of white single women living independently in Japan doing reps in the Japanese underground hip-hop scene. She also has a previous underrated body of work and output that can be considered pretty impressive for a solo creative. Talented illustrator with a unique art style, can produce and mix her own music and also knows how to edit and put together some impressively unique animated video stuff judging from the work she does with FAKE TYPE.

On sheer amount of talent alone, she's a fucking huge get for Cover.

That is my understanding. The way I look at it overall; they're voice actors and streamers. People know the past work and names of voice actors and streamers. So that information isn't a massive issue. The problems come when people can't use common sense and restraint and feel a need to harass and stalk. . . like POKA and the infamous Nene SC.

I get that she's good at what she does. Though the underground rap scene in japan is not quite detroit in terms of danger is it? I really like hip hop music, but I can't claim to like any of her work either as cali or as dice. What vtuber norms is she trying to challenge, out of curiosity? I also don't really care what tokyo did in the past since he doesn't seem into it anymore and it no longer looks like he joined to try to stir people up against Poka.

LOWERCASELETTERS said a while ago that he thinks only evil people and lolcows should be doxxed and that seemed like a really good basis. Generally a lolcow does cross that bridge to evil though, otherwise they should probably be given the zoo treatment so their shenanigans don't get tainted by losers telling them there's a jizzbomb on the way. Obviously no vtubers fit the evil bill except maybe the members of CN that were actively setting wolf warriors onto their parent company for who knows what reason. Even then it's a little murky since we know there were some Chinese ops to try to paint them as more involved than they actually were and even people who know Chinese have a hard time sorting through the slang to get to the truth. Regardless, someone dropping the home address and family phone numbers of Okayu gets the fucking rope.

I know there are people who can't stand the word "rrat" because it started on 4chan and therefore must be forced meme communism, but it has a use. If I am calling something a rrat, I don't necessarily want the answer to the question, I'm just having fun speculating and gossiping and getting the truth dropped on it ends the fun. The face leaks and old content re-uploads aren't really doxx. It's vaguely possible that some crazed gachikoi might recognize a face and something bad happens, but it's probably more statistically likely that the people behind vtubers get harmed for any other reason, so It's not a real worry for me. Out of all the clip channels, even the ones who put in minimal effort can be arsed to slap together a thumbnail and most will insert subtitles, edit the clips and insert some images to add a little transformative punctuation. Guys like Polka just upload someone else's content wholesale for monetization or attention and cry when it rightly gets copystruck. Do they understand that their content is sub-reaction clips? The guy who sits there, silently watching a little window of content in the corner is putting in more effort. And it's mostly to draw people to his Discord server, it's like hoping to turn those guys who comment, "Hey, come to Brazil" into a hobby or even career if he's that pathetic. Those attachments above though, that looks like he's hoping to get into rope territory.

I mostly agree with what you've written. I know what people use rrat for, I just find it personally annoying because I hate lazy English.

Also, yes, posting real faces that have been leaked for years now is not doxxing per se but I think it's definitely in poor taste at the very least, as even if it isn't doxxing in and of itself, it enables creeps and stalker types. We all know about the various vtuber stalking incidents. That kind of behavior shouldn't be encouraged.

I feel like it's ten times as important for English vtubers to try to protect their info and stuff just cause of how people will anally mine your social media for anything that can be construed as vaguely offensive these days so they can screech about it forever for attention. Fortunately, Japanese culture seems pretty resistant to penetration from that particular brand of chucklefuck for the most part.
