Prepare your bets my dudes and keep a ear on the ground for anyone graduating /going off the grid
Welcome to the newest VSinger, the Dragoness Drummer! The great part about the Zentreya character is he could probably pass it off to another guy in exchange for a cut of the earnings, and no one would know the difference. I wonder if any of the generations will see Cover try to sneak in an entirely AI girl.

IMO Kiara is the only one I could really see graduating.

She's the one I could see being forced to graduate, but I don't think she would walk away from the position voluntarily. This job is all that stands between her and a mediocre life making pretzels and waitressing in beer halls.
hitler also said this lol

[W]e will create the necessary conditions for the whole Germanic people and the whole of Europe, controlled, ordered and led by us, the Germanic people, to be able, in generations, to stand the test in her battles of destiny against Asia, who will certainly break out again. We do not know when that will be. Then, when the mass of humanity of 1 to 1½ [billion] lines up against us, the Germanic people, numbering, I hope, 250 to 300 million, and the other European peoples, making a total of 600 to 700 million – must stand the test in its vital struggle against Asia. It would be an evil day if the Germanic people did not survive it. It would be the end of beauty and "Kultur", of the creative power of this earth. That is the distant future. It is for that that we are fighting, pledged to hand down the heritage of our ancestors.
He considers asian invasion of europe to be an apocalypse scenario. That sounds a lot more like his honest thoughts than saying "ancient china had some fun stuff"

Kiara was not enough E-thot?
I was thinking the type that is bad enough that people will be begging for Kiara to be the worst EN again.

Also is it their time yet?

My wish as always is a Marine/Fubuki level anime otaku. A real degenerate.

Wonder if that means maybe it's not specifically Coco/Bugmen that EN Management is concerned about. But it's not exactly subscriber or viewer count either since Korone has collabed with Calli. I honestly wouldn't mind a little bit of transparency. Like both sides have shown interest in collabing with one another, but there's obviously something that management feels is important enough to stop it from happening. And having other branches on the EN server isn't the issue either because Ame invited ID to play whenever they want.
I imagine they're worried about the gachikoi too. Not because they'd actually be a problem for the EN girls but the blowback from poking the EN fanbases would probably be a major happening in terms of Japanese internet drama that Cover would like to avoid.

EN/ID collabs are probably considered less of an issue because the primary viewerbases for both are similar to each other in disposition and don't have as much gachikoi shit. Plus most of the ID girls speak at least serviceable English.

this is kind of a stretch and dumb, but im guessing EN is trying to go independent, as in trying to establish themselves as a standalone main branch and not a side branch like ID or CN was. Cover saw potential the global market had and knew that Hololive EN will eventually top (even though it already is) the JP branch, so they're pushing EN to be a standalone branch, hoping it'll produce many generations like the JP side of things and the first step to accomplish that is to make sure EN isn't associated with the JP side by limiting their interaction (again dumb as hell, but i can see cover doing it). Cover wants EN to be its own thing and evolve into something bigger and be the spearhead of Hololive.

then again i don't think making it hard for the JP girls to come over to EN server or even seperating the server is going to accomplish anything, i only see it making the EN girls feeling more alienated from the rest

So, we thinking a early summer debut?
Other pointless speculation time.
Is this gen going to gave a theme?
Countries of origin?
Character types?
Will an ethot be able to sneak in this time?
"EN are not an idol group"

Here's the one and only basis of my speculation.

EN2 will be mixed-gender.
They will Mostly be some manner of creative outside of streaming/gaming
1 Musician (non-singer)
1 2D Artist
1 3D Modeler
and here's the one that's admittedly "out there"...I bet they'll have a software developer. Either a webdev or a game engine dev.

IMO this gen likely won't be mixed-gender, just because the female side of the equation is well-explored and with a guaranteed level of base popularity. Could be wrong, but don't see Cover taking any major leaps right now when the EN female vtuber market is still unsaturated and Nijisani has yet to debut their first EN gen.

Now, this audition was for the EN equivalent of AZKi, right?
Don't believe so, it reads like the one for second gen that began last month and supposedly received 5-10k in applications (!!)

EDIT: Ah beaten by Cubanodun

Well, this thread got surprising real quick. and just in time too for a cliffhanger. I'll be going away for anywhere between a 2-6 months and may or may not have access to internet during any of it. . . so seeing Null show up as the Thanos reveal at the end of the Avengers really is striking. Anyway, wanted to say it has been real if I can't follow the thread for a bit (though I will probably be able to follow on mobile here and there for the next few days).
I would expect a JP talent or two to go into a hiatus. Another one or two will graduate (maybe even one of the ID ones). I could see Haachama being the one quitting.

One of the EN talents will get shit for saying or doing something non-PC on stream (thinking Callie for saying the big gamer word). EN2 will debut.

Where is the bulge?
My completely unsubstantiated predictions for the next 6 months

NijiEN will surprise everyone and do really well (like, a member will get 100k subs in the first month),
Nijiholo company wars will be imported to the west and ruin every discussion about vtubers forever,
Cover will continue to shit it's pants and make stupid management decisions,
A Hololive JP member will graduate or semi-retire,
View numbers overall will continue to plateau,
Overseas public interest vtubers will decline, less tourists and "react" type of content from normies,
Twitch will start pandering to vtubers in some lame and cringe way because YouTube won't,
Nyanners is going to get even bigger and 4chan will seethe about it
I think more will retire. Hell, maybe even an ID talent (Risu or Iofi).
Nene has become one of my favorite Hololive girls.

She is great. Originally she was the least I cared about back when they debuted but she is the one I like the most followed by Botan.

I have a feeling we will get a generic Catgirl and some Demon/Succubus. Hell, I could even see one of them having a camgirl roommate. Don't think we will get a strictly male talent but I can easily see a Transformer being in. Most if not all of them will just be straight-up former gaming streamers.

I think it'll still be entirely female. They'll almost certainly use different branding for any male talent they recruit, but the collabs will be a lot more frequent than the very sparse hololive/holostars collabs.

And I agree with your talent speculations, save for the software developer. Maybe some kind of general maker/hacker that does software development sometimes, but software development isn't really interesting enough to generate an audience from alone. Though if you are correct, I do look forward to frequent stream cancellations due to npm going down.

They already top the jp? How exactly? Subscribers?

Primarily subscribers for the moment, but superchat revenue is also nothing to sneeze at - and it won't be long before that metric dwarfs JP too given the sheer difference in market size.

There's a reason many of the Japanese girls are now playing up English learning and it's not just out of personal interest.

Pekora talking about EN server again and traps. Seems like she still not get the greenlight from the management huh.
Pretty sure Ame said that there’s no restriction and it’s down to whether they want to go over or not.
On Japanese stand point, they need to get “invite” first before they let themselves in. Unless someone give the rabbit a tour to EN server, she probably never try to barge in even if the EN server is pretty much “dead” with no active player.

Not to mention with the new wave of MonHun addiction, I’ll say the EN crew more likely to join the hunting collab with other over some Minecraft.

Kiara on stream asking her chat if they're disappointed she didn't fight with Moona. Says there is no hate in hololive. Asks people to not take the fighting over bekora seriously.

Japanese concepts of transgenderism don't match up 1:1 with western ones, so I'm not sure anyone at cover really understands the issue and why it is so controversial. Same with homosexuality. Its a very strange combination of "not really acceptable" and "we'll tolerate it as long as it sticks to designated spaces". I think they're mostly hoping to avoid the issue entirely for as long as they can.

I wouldn't be surprised if we saw a few of the mid-tier popular female gaming streamers (I don't know any names off the top of my head, but titty streamers who have like 20/30% of the audience someone like alinity draws) switch over to vtubing as there is more money in it for now.

Cover did/does have open positions for software devs, but I think for ancillary projects like the game they're coming up with.
