General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

In regards to AkiRose, I think we all need to acknowledge that even though she's at the bottom of Hololive in terms of subcount, that's kind of like having major sympathy for the least-paid professional footballer on a Top 10 side.

I don't doubt she has self-worth issues, or feels inferior in some way to the others (she mentioned not having 'anything to offer' the others in collabs during her 2nd Anniv. stream), and I do think it's perfectly fine to want to elevate her on that merit, but also consider that she's still a WILDLY successful V-Tuber in a vast ocean of incredibly talented people that just don't get recognised. AZKi's 72h showcase of other V-Tubers' music is evidence of this - absolute bangers and great model designs, yet some songs have yet to even break 1K views.

She averages more viewer retention than a vast amount of Nijisanji members, and we've seen through the likes of Flare, Lamy, and Towa that subcount doesn't necessarily translate or correlate with the amount of money being made. Gura isn't even in the Top 10 of superchat donations despite being on par with Kizuna AI in terms of sheer numbers. Calli makes more than her with 1.2m less subscribers etc.
I think her numberfagging is pretty understandable. You should consider though that their earlier(gen0-gen1) days in hololive wasn't really rainbow and flowers. Hololive brand was not yet established. She did mention aswell that they get almost nothing from youtube early on. And she did have a hiatus because of an accident not to mention her channel got demonitize. She debuted june 7 2018 on YT and she achieved 100k in march 26 2020. New hololive talents that debuts now gets 100k even before they debut.

I'll do what I want until that faggot null bans me. Getting mad about forum etiquette is about as gay as it gets.

Still sounds like her.
I mean, it's still the same person so I'm not sure why you were expecting an entirely different voice, but saying there's no difference is being painfully pedantic. It's just a similar situation as Suisei, not that I think Coco necessarily strains her vocal cords pulling it off. I think it's more a case of her being able to speak English in her Japanese voice. I personally can't speak English in my native voice or vice-versa, but more power to her.

Also, I'm not sure how old you think she is. But considering she's anywhere from late 20's or at most 30, I personally don't think her voice would change that drastically over 4 years. Unlike Gura who was genuinely a minor at the time of bbtv.

"I mean, it's still the same person so I'm not sure why you were expecting an entirely different voice"

Never said that. Learn to read.

"I personally can't speak English in my native voice or vice-versa, but more power to her."

Same, I speak way softer in nipspeak

Gura has been a content creator and voice actor for a long time. She pitches her voice up now more than she did back in zee day. I do believe you've misunderstood me sir.

also whoever in charge make today vid, prolly smoke a lot in the office, wtf is going on?

edit: this is their eps 100 hologra
I needed to watch this 3 times just to understand what the fuck is going on. This is probably one of the most chaotic episodes, and I can feel an headache coming just from watching it.

I like manga and anime (as it has been for the past 20+ years), but I'm not willing to dive into massive fucking faggotry these two people represent. YT had recommended me a few of their videos; the guy from Mother's Basement channel said he hated some anime because of "economical solutions" they have implemented into storyline he does not agree with and gave "trigger warnings" about "female on male rape" for Konosuba movie, what the fuck dude. I remember DigiBro having some spergouts about streaming services or something like that, I don't care about this at all (I pirate almost everything anyway) and gave him a wide berth: it appears I was right.

tl;dr these people's opinions disgust me, I want to enjoy my chinese cartoons without learning about their faggotry
In a similar situation so i feel ya, I linked those two because they are the most weeb related lolcow threads on site that don't pertain to WeebWars. MB is a retarded, cuckold, commie yet somehow corporate sellout who'd sell his kidney for a dollar and a like. Digitroon and cohorts are the exact people Null fears polluting his website with CP degeneracy. Maybe i should've linked to Brittany Venti's thread (of the cover struck Gura fans = paedo videos), where it was informed she frequently sleeps in cat shit.

Anyway my main point was to encourage people solely in this thread to spread their wings and checkout other sections of the website. It'd be easy to link to CWC, who the internet has been picking on for ~2 decades now, or DSP who somehow pigroaches his way across all comeuppance. However if people do check out other sections they'll probably stumble across a name they've heard of in passing, read a little... ... ...:stress:

Maybe they want to keep it simple and simply offtopic sperg about TV/film/games/books in their respective sections. I don't really participate in the AOT thread however I enjoy reading @Secret Asshole's posts and picture him going mental in a simlar fashion to Frank Grimes in relation to the story/editing decisions. Or maybe users will really go into the deep end reading about a gay weightlifting sex cult harem, that inject silicone into their scrotum, leading to the death of at least two people.
Duck playing RE7 right now.
Duck stream was great, a little slow to start, but she started chugging along nicley. Glad she used a PC setup as watching Peko aim in RE2:RE was painful, even if it did lead to many funny and unnecessary zombie bites

150 bucks is a bit too much right now.
I just watched a restream. It actually stayed up the whole time unlike the holofes ones

I missed the first day, I heard it was more Niji focused though. I liked green girl and autism sisters, never heard of them before today.

I just did some research and AkiRose made £15,000 between March 1. and April 1. More than even Fubuki. In the all-time standings of superchat earnings she stands at 86th iirc, above Gen 5 (obviously), Mel, Choco, Sora, Roboco, and big-name Niji members like Tsukino Mito and Katrina Ange.

The only 'concerning' ones I've seen are Choco and Mel, but even they are earning money on a weekly basis comparable to a standard full-time job from just 1-3 streams.

Joining a startup business with little funding at their disposal is a big risk, and it was evidently a struggle, but even though their successors are hogging the limelight, all of them are earning enough to keep the lights on, and the one we concern ourselves over is making money we could only dream of.
