General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
To take a brief reprieve from Kiara doomering and rrat posting, allow me to submit something for everyone's potential fascination and entertainment:

So, every now and then I occasionally take a glance at what's being discussed in certain circles I've been lurking in, and I'm reminded exactly why I've stuck to lurking.

I think we can all agree that /vt/ is pretty shit and has proven that it shouldn't be taken seriously, but imagine talking about "4chan" seething while you seethe about 4chan.
(As usual ignoring the fact that 4chan is more than just one board.)

Seeing a lot of mentions of a traumatic past for Kiara can anyone give a newfriend the rundown?

Ever since i learnt of Sister Abigail existence I've been bing watching her archive.
Not sure if the whole bible thing is ironic, but I really like Vtubers with a calm and softspoken voice, they do wonders for my headaches and help me sleep.

She was raped behind an Arby's by 2 Somali immigrants in 1987.

I’m not the one to tell since I don’t have the full details, but tldr Kiara did not have the greatest of experiences when she moved to Japan.

I don't want to start things again, but after the stream where she endured hours to get to the 1M subscriber mark ended, she left her mic on and some words could be made out from the background like "heil", "solution" and "Oberkommando das heeres"

Btw that reminds me i remember a clip talking about how Kiara came to jp to be in the Olympics but then covid happened

Anyone know how Keeki was to be involved? I can't think of anything

So I checked and I don't think we have it summed up in this thread. So, a quick summary:
  1. Taught herself Japanese at a young age through brute forcing conversations over chat programs with native Japanese speakers
  2. Went to Japan and joined an Idol group "Tone Jewel" in 2012.
  3. Got essentially stalked and run out of the group by a guy known as JRCach who would impersonate venue managers and complain about her and tricked the band management to let her go. (documented via this lolcow thread where Keeki herself posted - https://lolcow.farm/pt/res/764.html) [https://archive.vn/1NmHS]
  4. Became a pariah in the industry not only due to this, but also that she gave an interview and was candid about the way the idol industry treated her. A big no no in Japanese culture - https://aramajapan.com/aramaexclusi...-japan-interviews-former-idol-keekihime/7546/
  5. Did some cosplay work over the years but never really made it big. During this time, the JRCach guy spread rumors online that she had gotten to Japan by prostituting herself essentially. Or she 'tricked' a guy to bring her over and then reneged on the deal. (A lot of the hate for Keeki/Kiara in cosplay sites, such as /cgl/ on 4chan, will cite this as their main gripe with her. That she slept her way to 'success')
  6. Tried to get a job at Lufthansa, which by my understanding is a really difficult to land and prestigious job. Failed the medical exam due to long term problems with Fibromyalgia and taking antidepressants - https://www.facebook.com/1839615052...e-new-cosplays-i-did-this-ye/611861545812734/
  7. Sometime during this, took small bit parts based on her cosplay work. Ended up in a 'pseudo' wrestling match where she was lied to about A) it involving men, and B) they would treat her nicely. Proceeded to get manhandled by ugly ass guys in the ring and had one rub his clothed dick all over her face.
  8. Was resigning herself to a life of being a 'normal' worker. Came to Japan one last time on an exclusive, once in a lifetime work visa that cannot be renewed. Many speculate she came as a translator during the Olympics. She also seemingly was trying hard one last time to get picked up by a major company as full time cosplayer. Of course, this got COMPLETELY derailed by COVID.
  9. We are now here. She's now the successful vTuber Takanashi Kiara, but the past 8-9 years of being completely shit on by every opportunity she's had has definitely caused her to be defeatist. It was much more prevalent in the early streams (you could tell she was in the Idol industry "Last place = loser/gets fired" mentality.) But she's getting better as time goes on.

Entire chat screaming in horror because the shark sleep at 6 freaking am and wake up at 9

Holo-EN and absolutely atrocious sleep schedules, name a more iconic duo.

Can I just say I really appreciate that most Vtuber companies seemed to not implement that particular bit of the industry?
Vtubers cost way less than IRL Idols so that is why that policy doesnt apply to much now

Add the part where it was her becoming a NEET after the cof that she falled into the hole via Pekora and that rrat about her being transfered from 5th gen because EN was rushed to hell and back
