I thought Nyanners & Ironmouse had been doing this for quite a while, well before the trend, and Melody was one of the figures that originally brought VTubing to Western attention when she shot to the top of Chaturbate. Plus Mousey doesn't really have much in the way of other outlets.

Melody was the only exception I was aware of, but she did regular porn before jumping to the anime avatar didn't she? I just assume she'll go back to being a e-whore, virtual or otherwise.

IronMouse is the only VShojo member I could probably tolerate, and given her excessively terribly medical conditions she's likely in for life. I knew nothing of Nyanners before finding this thread, so the hypocrite history didn't really shape my opinion of her, I just found her obnoxious personally. She had a failed career attempt as a VA right? She might stick with it since she's already found a worthwhile simp base and has no previous internet personality to fall back on.

I feel this is more than a little unfair. You can dislike VSHOJO's brand of humour and content all you want, but trying to argue they're only there for the cash vs. the 'pious' Hololive etc is slightly disingenuous.

I mean, are we seriously going to argue that Sachiowo jumped ship from her Twitch streams to Hololive for the passion of the V-tuber industry? That a sizeable portion of scouted talents who ditched their previous V-Tuber model and smaller fanbase for anything other than exposure and money? Come on now.

Yes, you're right: many of the Hololive girls WILL stick around after the hype dies down, because they're either at 1mil and making more in a week than most do in half a year, or rapidly approaching 1mil and still making more in a week than most do in half a year. They are part of a seemingly sustainable company, constantly granting them opportunities to make money and garner new fans, and that will continue after the bubble pops (if it hasn't already).

A decent number of current VSHOJO members started off as low budget Indies who were doing it for fun, and they decided to expand. There's nothing inherently wrong with that. Nyanners is the only one you could really argue against that with due to her whole hypocritical loli bullshit apology stuff.

Basically the whole "sell out" argument people would throw around with bands they liked because they tried putting out music that would appeal to a wider audience. Only a retard would opt out on getting paid 50-500% more for producing the same content only by appealing to a wider audience.

I'm the same about her. She can say some fucked up lewd shit but she doesn't seem like it's what she based her stream personality on. She's mentioned fucked up shit from her real life so it's kinda like Amelia but lewder. She shows some degree of "I don't give a fuck" and also doesn't seem to engage in drama.
