I think the reason for the shock is that idol culture is pretty much unheard of in mainstream Western culture.
So the idea of graduation to the masses is still fairly foreign especially if it's from a huge Talent

Even for people who know about idol culture it's a shock because they never took the idol thing seriously, people who absolutely despise idol culture ended up becoming fans of these talents because they think they're streamers and free from all the shitty aspects of idol culture. So part of it is coming to terms with the reality that all that shit applies.

The rest probably just don't touch it because their fanbase is on youtube, and JP folks are more familiar with Youtube than Twitch which is still not heavily used in Japan (at least compared to Youtube)

Okay, I've been lurking this thread for a while trying to figure out what's going on with vtubers so I might as well post.

That's not really a lot of graduations, statistically speaking. Considering how much vtubing exploded since 2020, some of the more high-profile ones should start dropping out. I'm surprised it took Hololive this long to lose an established talent, but I guess Kiryu Coco leaving reminded others in the biz that yes, they can also leave.

I just meant in terms of high-profile vtubers, Im surprised we're having these drop offs. But, I agree, I am surprised it took so long for HL, I swore Haacahama was gonna be the first to leave, Coco took me by surprise.

I was because of Coco that they didnt, at least a half dozen members were going to graduate but ended up staying because of talks they had with her and having fun playing ARK and shit with her. Of course it was mostly about not having many fans, making much money or having any friendships within the group at the time so those things are probably mostly better for them now

In more uplifting news, Dola sama just celebrates her (late) 3rd anniversary and reveals a new outfit for the occasion. And it's fire. Literally.

Makes me think of a hostess outfit at first but the legs outline looks like she's wearing some kind of pant. Asymmetrical legs design seem to be all the rage these days. Also it's nice to see that the tail stay. Vtubers need more weird shit in their model. Leona's tail is constantly swaying in the background and I find it distracting as fuck but now it had became one of the charm point of her stream for me.

Here comes the main event. TLDR: It's good. A little orthodox compares to the usual crazy busy with adds on design we've been having lately, but it fits her very well. Simple is the best. The color was amazing. It was an instant fan favorite.

It's not even 20 minutes in and we already have some boob window fan service with this outfit. New hairstyle which is nice, I was expecting short hair from the tease but it looks like it just tied into a ponytail at the back. The tattoo on her neck was a nice touch. What is the purpose of that zipper? Also came with a cute little hat.


Body shot. Midriff lovers, this one is for you. She knows what her fans are into because two thirds of her outfits exposed her stomach in some way. The tattoo is once again nice. It's eye catching enough without being overly intrusive and take away the outfit. I'm not really sold on the sleeve though. The while on her black top was okay but the flame pattern just lost me.


Pants and fishnet combo for legs. Here's a shower thought. Between Chigusa and Dola you'd have expected Dola to be the one rocking the fishnet, but for some reason I think Chigusa actually wears it better. I'm not saying it looks bad on Dola, it just looks okay. The flame is actually easy on the eyes with a black background. I was half expecting another tattoo on her leg based on the pattern so far but unfortunately no dice.


The shoes are follows her color palette nicely. There's not much to talk about here. Is it me or the tail is brighter than usual? It couldn't be just me right.


Full body shot. If you ask me whether or not I like or hate it then I definitely like it. I think they're trying to go for the cool and sexy looks. The hotpants and fishnet obviously took inspiration from the hoodie outfit but her other leg just ruined the whole aesthetic compares to it. I'm in the minority thought, the rest of her viewers apparently love it to death. Either way, it's not a big deal. We rarely see the livers' legs when they are streaming normally anyway, and the top part hit a lot of right note.

I guess my previous questions were answer. The shoulders can be taken off, and bless whoever made that decision. As good as this outfit looks as default, she looks extremely good with it off, especially with her drake arms. The colors fits together so well. It's amazing how little details could completely change your perception of the outfit. The hat off version was amazing as well.


I would prefer the choker is another layer above her neck tattoo instead of replacing it completely, but apparently she prefers it this way. She also remarks that simple is the best so I guess that's why the choker is so minimalist in style compares to the rest of the outfit. It looks super good so I'm not complaining. Unlike with the shoulders, there's no clear winner here for me.

Full body shot ver 2. Much better. This one nailed what they were originally going for. The leg doesn't bother me as much anymore. Taking the fluff off and using her drake arms made all the differences. Came with the og hairstyle as well. Sorry all the short hair lovers but regular hair + this outfit is the best combination. I agree with the demand for this being her next 3D model.


There's the no horn version as well but it just isn't Dola sama without the horns you know. Looks okay with the hat on but please, not the horns.

The winter outfit is still my favorite but this one is already a close second. And that when it hit me. The reason I love it so much at first sight.

Because it's Surtr. Aside switching from dress to pants and fishnets for more fetish fuel, the upper body is basically the same as Surtr. This outfit is just Dola sama cosplaying as fucking Surtr. It was even more apparent with her normal hairstyle. Rion sama and Fischl were one thing, this is like a whole another level.

It was so hot virgin youtube-kun couldn't take the heat and fuck up her stream towards the end. I know it was the norm but having it on a moment like this makes it feel like she draws the short straw. All thing considered, it's a very good outfit. It's not as eventful as Chigusa or Lulu's reveal, and not a 10/10 new outfit like Rion's. The reveal stream was orthodox and I feel the design plays too safe in certain areas, but the high quality that you have come to expected of Nijisanji new outfit were still there.
