Coco will be back in some capacity one day, there's no doubt of that unless something catastrophic occurs or is revealed. I expect it to be more like a beloved retired athlete or local celebrity returning to the place they became famous; reuniting with old friends, meeting those who came after their time, visiting all the old haunts, maybe playing a game or two or performing for everyone, and then, after hugs are had and tears are shed, moving back on down the dusty trail to wherever the road takes them.

That's what I've always figured with her repeatedly mentioning returning in 500 years. Even repeating it to Polka during the Summer Festival. Like you mentioned, I think she just wants to accomplish some stuff on her own to prove her self-worth (which would play into her having doubts about herself and comparing herself to other Holomembers). Early on in one of her streams after she announced her retirement, might have been a member stream, she even asked everyone to wait for her.

Something about this that does worry me though is, say that she takes a 1-2 year break, who's to say that Hololive won't look drastically different. I personally hope we won't see any more graduations in the near future, but that's a long time to wait and hope for things to remain like when you left it.

Well, a return may not be permanent, it may be as a guest or something.

I think I mentioned the possibility before, but I wouldn't mind her being a random appearance character kinda like A-chan's on-screen presence. She just kinda shows up sometimes.

Yagoo was clearly out of his element with all his nervous chuckling to himself and hesitant answers. Coco really carried the interview. Just trying to picture someone else in her place doesn't work. You need that irreverence and provocative attitude to counter Yagoo's introversion. Which, judging by the interview, might be introversion on the Pekora/Aqua levels, funnily enough.

As good as the interview was for hololive in general and learning more things, I am not sure that seeing him in other collabs would be a good idea.

Not only might the company change, but people change too. Who knows, maybe Coco finds a new passion that she falls in love with and decides not to return? Maybe she goes and creates Ark: The Dragoning, heading a successful video game studio for several years. By then, we'll probably have had a lot more holomems graduate and fans rollover. The future is nearly impossible to predict. It's easy for her to say now that she'll be back, but years change people.

I just hope her graduation becomes the precedent for hololive graduations going forward. A full month for the fans to say goodbye, more for the other holomem behind the scenes. All this big action and talk. That would be a legacy that I think anyone would be proud to leave behind no matter where they end up in the future.

Coco has already said she isn't coming back, nor is she accepting a managerial position. She's said she's not allowed on the Minecraft servers or anything, and we know for a fact she plans on ramping up her activity as KSON in the wake of all this. Her actions have been very deliberate and very well thought out and everyone internally has listened to her reasonings and understood.

She isn't coming back. There's more to her life than being tethered to Hololive, and with a CV and connections like hers under her belt, she's almost definitely going to be moving onto something more future proof for her career. These V-Tubers graduate and they don't return. No one is having this discussion about 'maybe Lulu will come back when she isn't burned out', 'maybe Yuya will come back when she achieves her degree in law'.

Just accept that July 1 is the Curtain Call, and then in the unlikely event she shows up as a guest somewhere in the future, it'll be a welcome surprise, rather than a letdown of expectations.

Coco has already said she isn't coming back, nor is she accepting a managerial position. She's said she's not allowed on the Minecraft servers or anything, and we know for a fact she plans on ramping up her activity as KSON in the wake of all this. Her actions have been very deliberate and very well thought out and everyone internally has listened to her reasonings and understood.

She isn't coming back. There's more to her life than being tethered to Hololive, and with a CV and connections like hers under her belt, she's almost definitely going to be moving onto something more future proof for her career. These V-Tubers graduate and they don't return. No one is having this discussion about 'maybe Lulu will come back when she isn't burned out', 'maybe Yuya will come back when she achieves her degree in law'.

Just accept that July 1 is the Curtain Call, and then in the unlikely event she shows up as a guest somewhere in the future, it'll be a welcome surprise, rather than a letdown of expectations.

Before people bring up one of the only cases of a vtuber returning from graduation- Sasaki Saku from Nijisanji- she's gone on record saying that it was hard to even come back.

Its like quitting your job, you're not just going to be let back in on command, presumably there's a ton of background work to even be able to un-graduate.

Just to add to my post with the transcript of the interview (post felt bloated and somehow was causing my pc to feel like it was dying everytime I did any edits), key points:

• looks like Yagoo is a lil remorseful about how things turned out personally (or this is some good PR speak)
• there will be a cap on how many talents are going at once, though I think they'll like try to keep any holes left by graduations filled
• Yagoo does want the talents to be able to stream without worries, both from malicious actors and just the sure size of Hololive and how large its viewerbase is now
• if you wanna become a vchuuba with Cover, gotta meet 3 criteria: desire to do well as a vchuuba, experience/composure to deal with the possible large viewership numbers, and some kind of skill that can be streamed (gaming, singing, drawing etc)
