What an awesome gift. All the GTA VA's all signed cards for Miko Miko. She lost for words, all she can say is "GTA I love you"

Holy shit this is gold, it like seeing a cursed version of yourself in the mirror. I know this Miko has been roaming the streets of Akihabara. Scared some kids and the like.

I will give it to Cover for one thing. They are really improving their 3D performances. We now got movable stages, catwalks and stages in the crowd. They are using more space and dare I say the chubas models are smoother every time. Also Miko new song is really fucking good, it 100% going on my driving playlist.

Saw someone clipped the furi furi bit, so I've converted it to a webm. WARNING: It is very loud because her new song is very trancey which is awesome. (Bonus points if you turn on loop)

I can't decide which dead-eyed stare is more unsettling.

To give a bit of context on the giant Miko suit: last year hololive had a pop-up shop in Akihabara selling various licensed goods. Looks like they're doing it the same place and probably have some sort of deal with this store. The door decals this year have the EN girls (including IRyS) so anyone in the Tokyo metro can probably snag some really neat stuff. The horrifying Miko suit seems to be part of the promotion...although why they didn't just hire a fucking cosplayer is beyond me. They could honestly get someone like Keekihime, she's already a big fan of hololive and did a Fubuki cosplay a while back.

>see band of violent ecoterrorists
>assume they're the bad guys because violence and terrorism are bad
>congratulations, you're now racist because the leader of said terrorists is black
In general this is kind of ridiculous, but from when I was in Japan a lot of native Japanese tend to believe the idea that all black people are terrifying. Even then, Barrett doesn't exactly play against that type. He's an incredibly volatile man on a mission when on the job. Even when not doing Avalanche operations he still comes off as off-putting to everyone but Marlene.

Haachama's first guest for Meme Review 2.0 will be Kiara.

I'm sure of it, especially after the new outfit reveal :smug: Despite similar sentiments though, I don't feel I'm in the same team with Mizuryuu Kei.

I haven't played the remake and I don't really want to dig in the context of this guy's post, but in the original English translation Barret is an asshole to Cloud and it doesn't change for a long time. He's not so much in Japanese version, but still Barret is not your friend. Not sure is it the reason of Pekora's reaction, the fact that you blow up a reactor (which Barret actually regrets later) or she just HATES NIGGERS, JUST LIKE MIKO

Also:

The localization for Final Fantasy 7 was notoriously bad and they decided to turn Barrett into a caricature of mr. T which for some reason Square USA ran with for a while.
The remake actually turns Barret into a complex character who's basically the father figure of the group and not just a Big Nigga.
That guy's post is just another example of a Progressive showing their true colors send surprisingly a lot of them seem to be into Hololive.

If you haven't watched it already and can stomach Tim Rogers, I recommend his series Found in Translation, where he explains this change of character in detail. (this series inspired me to learn Japanese, as so much shit gets mistranslated/censored along the way)

Yep you are correct she just showed it on the ani stream. Looks like the exact same shop as last time, and yes you can go see the cursed Miko in person. Also new Merch stuff but I'm spoiling that shit because there some lewd stuff in there.

From what I can gather, Japanese tend to be not that racist (unless you're Korean or Chinese, but there's also reason for that). Sure they might be insensitive, but that cam from ignorance. That's the reason for Japan for being racist, not exactly that compared to its neighbors: China being racist because of state chauvinistic propaganda equalling Nazi (if not worse), and Korea who....is racist for absolutely no fucking reason at all
This costume is a hit with everyone. Choosing Miko as the model is a genius move. Its so impressively accurate it managed to scare some kids there

Tbf if someone is a Hololive fan watching KSON and they still don't know, they need serious help. Not only that but KSON is about as tactful as a sledgehammer to the sack about it.

She knows exactly where the 25K viewers and 500K post-grad subscribers have come from. The people watching know where they came from. There's no reaction from her because they're all on the same page.
Even most if not all of her mods are the same as well, including Taishi (Coco's translator the final month) who I think got modded fairly recently.

At least it's not Kingdom Hearts

Not to go off-topic but the book they just released is already teeing up time travel and alternate universes so your days are numbered avoiding that comparison. It's a Nomura/Nojima game, after all. They can't help themselves and they don't have an editor that tardwrangles their shit edgy teenager ideas.

Glad we have the cultured Korone, Luna, and Watame playing FF9 (even though Watame spent the first 2.5 hours doing the jumprope minigame in the prologue and almost had me to pass out).

I didn't know Watame was playing it. I've just been watching Korone's archives after the fact. The 9 hour streams fucking kill me though.

Not to thirstpost but as a nerd myself, there's something attractive about a girl who will game for nine hours straight. I do find it funny how she can occasionally be heard munching of snacks and her avatar munches along with her.

Korone is one of my favourites because she plays games no one else will touch with a ten foot pole and loves it because old boomer JRPGs are her fucking jam.

I never in a million years though I'd see a V-Tuber play all of SaGa Frontier, and even with more modern FF options on the table she could prioritise, she chooses the PS1 era.

Long streams where she's clearly in her comfort zone, snacking on food and getting invested in the story is I think why I find her so enjoyable and relatable.

Speaking as a black guy in Japan it's sort of the opposite.
Blacks are seen as wild hipsters that a lot of young people like to get down with and people like Will Smith are to thank for that .
The popularity of hip-hop culture over there has led to a big boom in the 80s and you still feel the effects of it today insert an anime like Samurai Champloo or in Shibuya in general
