To follow up on this. I do not like halal threads. This site can be conflict prone enough as it is. But just by the nature of you signing up, you are put into the acceptable targets to dox and harass by a lot of people.

I am not even talking about people on this site. There is a reason Null gives those warnings out when you sign up.

To refrain from thirstposting, I'll just say that I already knew she was pretty, but she looks especially elegant here.

True it is much more complicated, not helped by the fact it was created as a black box, so they can only try and indirectly push it in the direction they want it to control the platform. At the very least it is hopefully an important lesson on how quickly you can lose control of an AI. That being said, they really do need to try and find a way to use what they and the AI have learnt from the current iteration, to build a replacement that's hopefully less screwy. I'm also unsure whether the Youtube/Google programmers have an equal permissions or higher permissions than the AI, as some of the struggles I've heard of them doing the age old sibling fight of one turning the lights on and the other turning the lights off, and taking awhile before the AI stops being a dick.

I don't see why they couldn't throw a traditional algorithm layer in between the AI and the actions taking place (actions like banning channels, relabeling videos as "for kids", etc) to give it hard limits. Maybe they do have limits/whitelists but only for their own channels and the biggest of the big players (imagine Vevo getting three DMCA strikes lol).

For those of you having trouble with notifications, this is going to sound a bit "turn-it-off-and-back-on-again", but go to your oshis' channels and click the bell, make sure it says "all" and not "personalized".

Anyone have a source on how much creative input the hololive talent have into their character design?

I'm curious because of Calli's breasts. She said she used to be unhappy being full figured. So you'd think being a vtuber would be perfect, right? It's your chance to roleplay as a petite-bodied gal. But no, not only does her character get big breasts, she gets the biggest set in holoEN, with attention-grabbing cleavage and a frankly excessive level of bounce. Is this a choice that was imposed on her (she perhaps being hesitant to challenge it because she was new at the time), or was it her own choice? Both possibilities are interesting.

There may be an element to it where they feel that having similar proportions (incl. height) makes it easier to roleplay, and/or harder to slip up on details when they talk about IRL. Take Moona for example, she talks about her tits a fair amount. Imagine if she complained about having to wear two sports bras to hold them steady, all while using an avatar that looks like Rushia.

I'm mainly a lurker anyway, I usually only comment like once every few pages. You guys won't have to worry about me too much, I mainly just browse this thread while on breaks at work.

I think someone mentioned they can at least choose between a few.
imo there must be some input/adaption, because I can't really think of one where the avatar was completely at odds with the person behind it, and getting "in character" only goes so far. can you imagine watame with ollie's avatar? more often than not if feels like it's an almost perfect fit (or maybe that's my brain just filling the gaps this way) which would be quite hard to pull off when you just push a char with certain traits on someone.

That didn't occur to me because the characters are fantasy creatures that often don't resemble the actors - Calli for example looks nothing like her roommate.

But now that you mention it, the body types do seem to roughly fit the roommates, from what little I can gather. Noel and Moona for example are stacked irl judging by things they've said.

The only mismatch I know of is Pekora. Her character is slim figured, but her roommate can fill out Hestia cosplay.

So yeah, I think maybe you're onto something.

Depends on who you are and if you auditioned or got scouted. Flare auditioned, she didn't get a choice and had problems with her OG design. 2 members of gen 3 got scouted and presumably had more input. Luna and Coco were scouted and got what they wanted.

The fact that Gura is shark-based makes me think that there are a few base models to choose from which they later can do minor edits to. In some cases they have way more creative input but I doubt many of the original gens had a say in what they would go for.
