Here are my autistic thoughts about the recent events, after the sites untimely roll back.
I don't envy the Hololive reddit mods, how you wrangle those fucking retards, even before you have to delete the 100th identical brain dead meme. The mods only have power to pass along sentiment and what people in the community talk about or suggest, it then has to make it's slow climb up to someone who actually has power to do something.
That said, it's been mentioned that it's possible the rigger was hired under contract, and that's why we're still suffering from their work. I just hope their work was cheap and that Anya is at least happier with her new model than the last. I wonder how much competent rigging work costs, as I'd do more than my usual membership simping if it would help her get it fixed.
Gura's new model had the hole in her model's chest, the ear was a mix of it not being blended, but also the hair details which accentuated the problem. Both were "fixed" the art of her hair was changed slightly to help the blending process. I would hazard to say the main reason Gura hasn't used the new model is probably down to the fact she's lazy, just like how she doesn't use her models options either, she doesn't care. Though having said that, I imagine the negativity around the model probably hasn't helped her.
The flat face problem stems partially from the wide face design, not to say it couldn't be done, but it's much easier on a longer face. So would require someone who's good at what they do.
Now onto HoloCouncil (I wish they would just be Gen 2, it's so much easier, and seriously who is so much of a normie watching vtubers, that they wouldn't be able to understand Sempai/Kouhai) Edit: Also why do people keep mistaking them for gods, the "gods" made them, they're manifestations of their silly lore concepts.
Interesting to see if that person on twitter turns out to be one of the new members or if they just had "insider" knowledge.
I think the new models are very "Standard" anime, I know these models were already in the works, but every time I see people whinging about IRyS' look (Which you have to remember is designed for album covers and MVs, to stand out in the music industry, you don't want plain/generic) this is the direction you will see, if every design that's slightly different has multiple threads and pages of people saying it's weird, it doesn't fit, and so on. We'll get the good ol' same face anime cast, which I would hate. I'd rather there be models I find weird/don't like as much, over same face.
That rant over, at the end of the day I don't care what they look like, my only concern is their personalities. Plus we'll have to see how they move and how the individual streamer works their new models, from the snippet I saw on twitter they're all 2.0 and have much more accurate tracking.
Lastly, I get having a laugh and changing a wiki page to take a funny screen shot to pass off as real, but how bottom of the barrel full retard do you need to be to keep trying to fuck a page up, all you're going to get the page locked and make it harder for actually page edits or addition.
