General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Although Pekora is an absolute neet hikkomori she still has pretty good stamina if you compare her to other holo girls playing RFA

I wonder if its me, us, or we just didn't get the memo about the MK Tournament from the JP side
Not just you. There are surprisingly little fanfare about it. Even the participant doesn't promote it on their twitter. I think it's partially drown in all the exciting stuff happen this week, along with them don't want to take the long planned EN+ID thunder.

Gura's gonna get last place, or very close to it. She's like one step removed from being 'driving in the wrong direction' bad. I'm curious as to where Ina will place -- her practice stream was actually kinda intense, she was really into improving herself.
Inb4 Gura's cumbuds go around shitting on other who beat her or use shell against her unintentionally, and Gura refuse to join a big collab for another year.

As an aside: Uruka must either have been mia from everything growing up, or must be some level of fairly young. She couldn't name a single actor except Samuel L Jackson that I can recall. I don't think she even recognized some of the names among Willis, Travolta, or Walken.
She is probably Asian and had helicopter parents growing up, it would explain her being so good at so many instruments.

Warabeda being adorable.
God, it hurts me to think that her long hiatus last year severel hurt her growth, she is one of the best singers in Niji and adorable all around, also, is it me or her model got chubbier?

Unlike the JP MK tournies theres no Okayu/Aqua/Suisei whos actually pretty good. They seem to be all almost equally shit so this is going to be some special olympics type shit
thats the best part!
Sure, watching good players compete among each other is fun, but horrible, shit, garbage bin, absolutely awful players flailing to grasps the basics always make me laugh.

Not sure about Mori's new MV.

Don't get me wrong. In terms of lyrics, performance, music, visuals and overall style, she definitely met her usual standard.

No, it's the theme. The whole "I'm abusing you" thing. Part of a pattern that Mori's been leaning into more recently, and some other vtubers I like as well. I'm aware that there's a market for that, and I guess there are good reasons for popular creators to have some negativity toward their fans that they want to express.

But I don't know. Whenever a vtuber starts with the whole, "Tee hee, I'm gonna bully you! I'm gonna torture you! I'm gonna murder you!" thing, I just can't enjoy it. I've tried. It only pisses me off. It's like their expressing contempt for you FOR supporting them. Streamers like Gura and Ina who don't do that create a much better experience for me.

Hey, if you like that kind of thing that's fine. No offense intended. But I don't, and if it keeps getting more popular I might need to limit my vtuber consumption. Move on to something else.

Sorry for the selfish post. Just felt the need to express myself. May delete later.

The song is off her last EP she's done lyric breakdowns of what the song is about from her perspective. It's more a reflection on how she can be toxic in relationships, friendship, familial or otherwise.

It's not a "tee hee I'm gonna bully you!" kind of thing as it's not a glorification of it so much as it's introspection or reflection on it as a negative aspect of herself.

We call that 'It' factor being good at the game. Girl is fucking dirty.
Nah, its way more than that. Its her laugh and ability to shit talk.

Omaru Polka emo and edgy original song

I honestly like it!
Good song but the mixing is not great. I can barely hear the vocals. Love the video.

They bounce off each other so well, it's amazing considering that this is their first collab together. They seems to have a comeback for other tease all the time and it's a stream full of laughter. I'm liking this duo already. ReiRyS?
I think I have said it before but when it comes to collab partners Reine is probably one of the best if not the best. She's really witty, she can handle all 3 languages and she has a really good ability to match and complement the other person. Doesn't hurt that she's super chill and pretty decent at games.

Kiara seems to be able to give her fierce competition in that regard.
Don't forget about Callie being god awful at almost anything video game related.

You have a strong opinion about something you didn't research. The song isn't m-baiting. It's the usual Mori's "I hate myself" song. The bully in the song is herself, and she feel that she hurt or used other around her, intentional or not. How she feel like she took advantage of other kindness, someone like Kiara or the chat. And how she hate herself from giving hurtful word and told herself "it's for their own good". It's a self mockery song.
If you got time, the lyric dive of this song start here. It's pretty interesting and you'll find that she's damn passionate about her music creation.
All her chat bully is prompted by chat anyway, and she doesn't make it her main content. Complaining about the few time she do and ignore all the repeated, autistic appreciation she have for her chat is kinda nitpicking on your part. It's like saying Suisei newest song show she is leaning into GFE when she vehemently refuse to even say she love or pretend to kiss her fans.

Oh yeah I absolutely agree. Watching high stakes matches in fighting games when the players are both dogshit can be some of the funnest most hypest shit

Gonna say this really makes me want to make Lasagna myself again, looks pretty damn great for a first try

I was never able to get a good lasagna in my country; the best I have ever eaten was in... the UK, of all places (in some shopping centre in Southampton, to be exact). Nevermind - this looks really tasty. "Find yourself someone who can cook - tits will sag/fade away, but you will need food for your whole life". Kiara/Keeki dressing as her character was also great.

Does Kiara have some sort of medical condition

She uses filters to make her skin look porcelain white. She posted a picture without any filters on twitter to show how red her skin is after holiday in Greece.

Gura just learned about Dwarf Fortress.

That would be... something. If any popular vtuber starts playing it (or already did?), I hope they won't use any plugins and just start learning naturally. There is this magical moment when letters "c" running around on your screen become cats (lmao 2cat), "d" - dogs and so on, like the code in The Matrix becomes people.

Kiara is advertising Mario Kart tournament, which I think starts right when I get back home tomorrow, which is great - as I enjoy watching vtubers playing Mario Kart, especially when they get salty about it. Should be fun.

The visuals look like they're glorifying it.

I'm thinking of this along with her "Envy Baby" cover and what she said for the "Love The Way You Lie" karaoke. "You Deadbeats have to be my punching bag!" things like that.

There is definitely some self-criticism there, but I think you're underestimating the "negative roleplay" aspect.

EDIT: Thanks for the link, I'll give it a look later. But don't forget that she can overstate one aspect, like the self-criticism part, and understate other legitimate aspects for the sake of not offending people.
