General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Makes me wonder what comes after v tubers several years from now. It sucks to know that of the members will eventually graduate and leave
In a few years, this thread will probably be sent to spergatory, and the girls will most likely have grown up in a better financial situation than their peers. Maybe the Vtuber community will be oversaturated to the point where people treat it as another YouTuber gamer phenomenon - ultimately, nothing special to get this excited over and in fact, as generic and boring as actual moe-type anime. Anyway.

Haachama is a force of nature she just ended her stream with calli and went directly for a Karaoke, whatever thing Coco said to her has made her a more relentless machine

I expect 2 things to happen, market oversaturate and we get a crash but corpos will probably be fine a thing i will approve because the good ones will remain while the vtwitters drama queens never debuting can fuck off, and second tech keep improving and the concept of vtubing extend to other venues like Kizuna Ai is doing it right now

I dont think vtubing as a whole will die anytime soon, is like when people said video game streaming was going to be a fad and now you have complete sites and industry around it

Edit: metal red heart i cant fucking even

Honestly, a good point, and I haven't even thought about streaming's history as a whole. I do remember being on the internet long enough to where developing personalities like Markiplier or PewDiePie seemed to be breakout stars and lead to an entire oversaturation of the streamer market. Maybe you can find a diamond in the rough, but it's harder unless you know specifically what you're looking for.

Perhaps the market splits then? Lower-effort vtubers fade into obscurity, higher-effort groups like hololive still maintain a large market dominance (but with different girls), and the majority of vtubers would be people that are just having fun (like your every day streamer) and not particularly associated with a brand? Eventual improvements in AI and face tracking may improve and lead to more vtuber stars outside the japanese realm (and limited western realm), but if the person has a personality of a dead fish, no amount of lipstick as a pig would make them interesting.

Watching the VOD for the Hana/Ollie APEX collab and you can just about cut the sexual tension with a knife; I'm so used to vtubers playacting and faux-yuri pandering (outside of Vshojo who i'm pretty certain amount to a mutual thirst singularity (and also Zen lol)) it actually took me a while into the collab to realize "wait a minute I think these two might actually want to fuck each other". Even if i'm wrong it was still a great time with lots of fun and cute moments; especially nice to see Hana outside the Niji bubble and spending the whole stream giggling and bantering playfully with Ollie. I'd like to see more of her interacting with other non-Niji vtubers and hopefully further building her reach and confidence. Great time, worth a VOD watch for sure.

So? They can still buy guns there.
Yes, in Texas you can own a gun and open carry or conceal carry a gun. And by Sept 1 there will be a permitless carry bill that'll allow people to carry firearms without a license or training (this has been a debate if this bill would be a good or bad thing, but then again this is the same Texas that has allowed open carry swords, machetes, and Jim Bowie knives and one can own a tank).

But I may disagree with @kadmckool on the possibility that Mumei is a possible gun owner as from looking into her dox page she does not look like someone who would own a gun and I feel like it also depends on where in Texas she lives as she may not think twice on thinking to own a gun would be necessary.

Korone has completed most of FF9 and is at Disc 4 (the victory lap of rushing the final areas to the final boss). Surely this is the final stream on a great adventure through one of my favourite stories.

She's currently playing Tetramaster again, the in-built card game. I want to die.

Someone else already posted it, but maybe this could be from when Reine called Mumei a kiwi during her drawing stream and people decided to stick with the joke (maybe?). But, I personally haven't seen anyone used the joke not even in her 4chan threads called her kiwi at all. So in other words this guy is getting defensive over a joke that more likely hasn't taken off yet.

Edit: In the comments of the post, someone pointed out a Twitter artist who drew a kiwi wearing Mumei's bag friend and having Reine's kiwi drawing in the background. But this is just one example so still.

Null should make The Mumei farms in the next april fools joke

Sometime it's not about you hate the person or not, but it's just because the info is already there to be pick up. Holy hell, she doesn't do any opsec at all huh. Guess her autism isn't fake for performance after all. Still, the website is pretty low. Most of the blog usually stop at their face and leave it at that. I never saw one that's so enthusiatic about digging up their personal info like this. At this point, isn't it criminal level? Maybe Cover can make an example out of this one.

Kronii continue to be a joy to watch. She can jump around from shit talking chat, acting smug, screaming weird noise, and drop a deadpan meme reference. She's good.

I wonder why they don't play more of Ori and the Blind Forest though. It's should be up a lot of holomems alley. The only one I found playing this game is Iofi last year.
Seems like a huge oversight from her part and maybe management not pushing hard enough to get her to scrub her account before her debut.

Watching Amelia's latest stream. I think this is the saltiest I've seen her.

"It's my team's fault!"
"My team sucks!"
"That ability is BULLSHIT!"
"That made NO SENSE!"
"This is so fucking dumb."
"This is so fucking stupid."
This is every Valorant stream she's done. Not sure why she plays that game.

To think EN1 had poorly protected identities, Mumei's roommate not scrubbing at the very least irl info especially geolocations is just poor understanding of how the internet operates sometimes, and it does not always want to play nice. Only way to know whats gonna happen is to see how it plays out, whether Cover pulls a KSON and nukes the site like she did with whtever the fuck his name was. Or they'll just fold like wet shit paper like they did with Aloe and we'll see the first EN graduation
They wont shut the site down. If they do another one will pop up. No use causing the Streisand effect

By the way, I'm confused, Mumei may have not caused any drama yet for us to discuss, but shouldn't we be grateful the nips are already taking care of archiving stuff in case something happens?
If hololive and the owl don't care about the doxxing (or they would have done something to prevent it), why do you?
That's pretty backwards. The fact that the focus is all on her and her boyfriend for the most part lets you know its more about trying to stir shit up than anything else.

Elira does indeed have a big collab this week but it isn't with HoloID as I predicted.

It's with Sykkuno.
Can someone explain to me what's Sykkuno's appeal? Does he just appeal to kawaii uwu 13 year old girls who like his "im super shy and awkward" persona?

Ok I dont intend to hang around on this accursed thread but I just saw this and my brain is currently imploding in absolute confused horror, and I feel i should inflict this feeling onto others

This was pretty good.

Whey I have returned, glad I didn't miss anything too substantial now, all been pretty easy to catch up on now. This is my 500th post as well Jesus Christ, slowly racking up them numbers.
This has been pointed out before, and Cover was accused of not being able to fix their website. And, then some pointed out that the design of the website, even how the talents are showcased, could have been done better.
Yeah that was me, and it still looks outdated and shit today. I'm still salty their one of the biggest pioneers of vtubing and they can even produce a functioning and flowing site.
original Elite song being dropped.. very ELITE
Thank you for this, I have been having to watch the concert multiple times just to hear the song because it such a banger. Going to be on repeat on my drives out for a good while.

Ultimately this, Aloe's was equally on her manager as the material was on Cover created channels. Mumei can be advised and told the dangers, but it's ultimately her right to decide what happens with her private info. She did not and now she either weathers the JP storm or folds.

I can't speak for his appeal but he was a popular LoL content creator during the game's heyday, and is now part of the same circle as Valkyrae, LilyPichu, Pokimane etc. He is a known V-Tuber fan (and not just Hololive) so this doesn't spring entirely out of the ordinary. I don't watch his content, but anyone who isn't a cunt or one of those Minecraft LPers who grift children is totally fine in my book.

It's worthy of note, though, that these kinds of collabs ARE the Nijisanji way. Their JP branch very often collabs with high-end seiyuu and actors, mangaka, popular YouTubers, and professional gamers. As the EN branch grows, the likelihood that you are going to see them with big-name YouTubers and Twitch thots, as well as the woke sect of anime VA's, grows with it.

It's just the reality of things. Not necessarily going to make for the most exciting content, but it will give them an absolute fuckload of connections and opportunities they may need to fight the competition on other fronts that aren't sheer numbers.

NijiEN will probably always be competing for 2nd Place, but they do have the talent and facilities to keep on chipping away at other companies' slices of the pie.

Interestingly enough from a marketing standpoint, the Nijisanji approach seems to be the best way to expose their talents to a more normie audience. That said when you think about how hard it is to collab with Hololive because of how restrictive they tend to be, when you actually get someone to collab that's from outside there is that whole "exclusivity" feel to the whole thing. Might not really help the talent's numbers but the other way around and help the collab partner more than anything.
