A lot of channels I used to love for that are gone. We need KiwiTube. I want something funny like OneyPlays back, shit is so fake and boring lately.

Also dont quadpost. Just make one post and multiquote with "Reply" or "Quote" and put the quotes in. It's seen as bad form otherwise.
I’m fairly new here and to be honest I’m probably an autist myself. I’ll do my best to learn.

IIRC Garand thumb is a SERE instructor for the Air Force. the impression of "fakeness" might be something that the military requires/suggests. He can't be too controversial without it harming his career. His channel probably brings some recruits in for the DOD.

I mainly watch for the production value. his audio tends to be fantastic and the film is too. Ill catch a video every once and awhile.

I can't speak for anyone else but me personally? GT comes across to me as being very fake. In that special "how do you do fellow kids?" kind of way, I think he's a charisma black hole and I don't like his presentation style, and for a guy that goes on and on about shooting and training as much as he does he spends 97% of any given video's run time just talking into a camera and almost no time showing shooting, training, or practical testing.

I'm sure he's a good guy, and I'm also sure he's got his shit squared away, and I'm also sure that he tones himself down for Youtube, (and I can't blame him for that honestly since it is what he does for a living) but I don't like his videos and I don't like him as a presenter.
I don’t get that from him at all. He spends most of the time talking in front of the camera because he’s reviewing the gun in his way. He goes “from top to butt” like he says and breaks down each part of the gun he likes and doesn’t like. That’s what I get from it anyway.
The reason I say "fake" is because he seems like he either is more reserved off camera and feels the need to "hype himself up" so to speak for his on camera presentation, or he's actually more animated off camera and has to tone it down when he's presenting. Either way I'd like to see him just be himself or at least act like he's being himself.

Look at Paul Harrel for instance. I love Paul. He's dry, boring, and pedantic to a fault, but the man feels genuine and so I'll sit down and watch the man for an hour even if I'm not particularly interested in what he's actually opining about. Of course I just generally like dry and academic lectures so I'm a bit of a weirdo but hey, hopefully you get what I'm saying.
I see what you’re saying but I don’t get that vibe from Mike whatsoever. I get that vibe from Demo Ranch 100%. Not “fake” per say, but someone who hypes himself up for his vids.

As for Paul, I like him too. I actually like listening to him talk more than I like seeing him shoot. I often fast forward past the parts where he’s shooting so I can listen to what I have to say.

I think he's a TACP now, I know he's a LT though.

In regards to Garand Thumb's delivery; I figure it's wooden because he's been practicing & polishing it for so long, yet also has to dumb it waaaay down for YT consumption. We're seeing him at probably 1/2 speed (in terms of content & cadence), compared to what he'd do off camera & on the job.

Is it weird that I find myself looking forward to the 2021 Thanksgiving special? The 19/20 ones were good to put on as white noise before you went to sleep.
I'm doing the same thing. His Thanksgiving specials are great. I'm particularly fond of how carefully he measures every ingredient in his recipes.

I think GT is genuine but he's trapped playing a meme character which gives off the "fellow kids" vibe. It's the recipe for success so he can't change.
I've been skipping most of his uploads lately but now that you mention it I think he used to put more shooting B-roll footage in the talking segments but I'm not sure. Because I "watch" a lot of YouTube by carrying a bluetooth speaker with me around the house while doing chores I appreciate getting info without long sections of just gunshots going off.
What the fuck has Nutnfancy been up to these days? I went to his channel and saw toy planes which is both funny and confusing.

Being his sperg self, I guess.

Anybody watch GT's video with Executive Outcomes(Administrative Results)?

Administrative Results started out with movie gun clone builds.

The video made me realize that the relatively new "Carry handle mount is just the same as 1.93 risers in terms of height over bore raising except cheaper" line of thinking is very interesting to me and I wonder how it will stand the test of time.

Should do fine. retro is cool and saving money is really cool, plus built in irons.

Not that heavy, just skip the Government Profile barrel which people commonly go for, there's barrels which give you the same or better performance for quite a bit less weight. The M16A2 really tacked on a bunch of dead weight on the AR15 which most people are still sticking with because the US Army still keeps most of it on the M16A4 and M4A1.

I'll give the WWSD credit on Blokeontherange and Ian doing an excellent video and talking specifically about the modern pencil barrels. It was at Finnish Brutality I think.
