Not only are they stripping a famous base of it's name and heritage, but giving it some lame ass cliche name like Fort Liberty? What a fuck you.

Liberty is one of the better ones, because at least it wasn't picked based on race or gender like many of the other new base names:
Fort Hood, Texas, be renamed after Richard E. Cavazos, the first Latino to reach the rank of a four-star general in the Army.

Gun companies do this stupid type of marketing every few years. Should have seen Spike Tactical with the pipe hitters union moroncy.

I agree 100%. But there's no real downside to it for them. There's a certain moronic segment of the buying public that totally will totally buy a thing because of Appeal to Molon or Appeal to 'Murica.

And maybe there are some buyers who'll be put off by it, but not many.

I always get a kick out of it whenever I see those stupid stickers. My guess is that if those guys knew what Marcelus Wallace actually meant when he said "Hard, pipe hittin' niggers" they wouldn't adopt that moniker.

Those names just get worse the more I read them. The ONLY one I can see is:
"Fort Rucker, Alabama, will be named after Michael Novosel, a Medal of Honor recipient who flew combat aircraft in World War II and the wars in Korea and Vietnam."

There is nothing wrong with Rucker but Novosel was a god damn hero.
