General GunTuber thread

That too. However, it really wouldn't be tough to make a more rigid cartridge, something like a shotgun shell, the brass or annealed steel case head would be practically infinitely reusable. Hell, make a full brass or steel case, if we were to retain any decent machine tooling this isn't too tough of a problem to fix, just make goddamn sure you retain/recover your spent cases.
Mine was more of a worse case scenario than an actual speculation of what's possible with the tech. But good god lever-gats are the handsomest guns around, and the Win1895 ain't even the handsomest lever gat ever made.

I have a theory that if there is ever some sort of 'event' that after a few years, only black powder will be able to be reliably manufactured. In that situation with some sort of access to machine tooling, it would be Wheelock's that would be produced, not caplocks or flintlocks. Anyway I watched an old InRangeTv video with Ian today and I wanted to share it.

Clock me if you want but I must talk about my special interest.
Wheel locks are nice for hunting and perhaps as a specialist weapon (like the mounted dragoons) but are inferior to flintlocks in nearly everyway and are more time consuming to build than is worth it to a mass movement where the number of guns is far more important. You never really saw them on the renaissance battlefield as a result of this large cost issue even though this is 16th century tech.
The other posters are also probably correct that primer is relatively easy to manufacture and even smokeless powder is within the skill realm of a backyard meth chemist.
(wheel locks are beautiful tho, proper works of art)

Works of art indeed, especially for their time period. Would absolutely not mind anything half as fancy as one of these as just a gorgeous wallhanger, maybe putting a couple of shots through it on special occasions. No Pyrodex for one of those, no, they would get real blackpowder.

(Not gonna bother embedding, nobody wants that shit taking up space on their screen.)
Even that reproduction example, itself an antique, would be very nice to have.

Didn't that skinny faggot claim he has a kill house facility that caters to local swat and whatnot? That's pretty heavily implying you teach tactics.
For awhile before the navyman controversy Lucas would ride the line using words like "training" or "instructing" to imply he was working with cool guys(what a gay term). Legally he wouldve fucked Navyman and co because their evidence is hearsay and he could provide proof that technically he did have so and so out to shoot on his range.

I dont watch everything he puts out, but since the controversy happened, he picks his words carefully and leans less into whatever he was implying before.

If he has a "kill house" on his property I would think it would get featured in more videos, rather than random walls set up in the middle of a gravel field.

Capnball channel has some videos on wheel locks. His are modern made repros by a gunsmith in Poland.

its a good thumbnail format its clean and conveys a ton of information.
I agree, but notice I said they're "using" the format; rather than "stole", as stated by whoever posted it first:

Most of the people commenting on the FW sub are pretty IDGAF, while a suspect few I'm pretty sure are the same individuals gnashing their teeth in comments elsewhere on other hosting sites. For those spergs it's like Khyber Pass Customs filched Ian's firstborn or stole his donut OC.

I was just surprised at how much froth could be worked up by someone with the audacity to copy Ian's precious thumbnails; offering to sue on his behalf, mob Khyber Pass & YT until the sanctity of the FW thumbnail is restored, etc. A lot of the comments are sarcastic & amusing, but it's pretty easy to tell which ones aren't taking it lightly.

It just reminded of how asshurt groupies get about their favorite bands being imitated/copied, and Ian's white-knights are definitely an exceptional bunch.

Personally, I'd flip it around so it's not a 1-to-1 copy. Not because FW has a monopoly on that layout, but because it's just good business to have your own easily identifiable thumbnail template.

After watching a bunch of this guy's videos I think this guy is from Pakistan maybe even the Khyber Pass area, it's just him showing off cool guns and shooting some of them living his best life, I genuinely don't think he cares if anyone watches him, or what a bunch of reddit trannies think of him.

I think we'd be back to matchlocks
How would you make the match, I think with some sort of basic machine tooling a wheellock type mechanism (anything that generates a spark) could be produced.

No lol, mercury fulminate is piss easy to make so we'd be back to probably paper cartridges, single shot rifles and revolvers.
I suppose it depends where you are, however there are situations where you don't want to be reliant on a consumable product, when there's a one of solution.

Am I late to the party? One of the gun groups I'm in on is having a war with itself on Facebook because Brandon Herrera and Donut Operator went to Dan Crenshaws birthday party, and I guess Herrera is claiming he's talking gun policy with him to "change his mind" or something?

They're all being pretty fucking gay about it tbqh, but maybe I'm biased because of my opinion on them anyways.

Eyepatch McCain sucks. He should stick to yelling at little girls at his own rallies, calling people anti-semites, and pushing red flag laws instead of photo ops with guntubers. That's what he does best, after all.

Three fags fagging out, I don't see the big issue.

Oh yeah, I noticed that quite a while ago, thought it was funny.

And bless him for it.

what's up with Paul's Pop-Tart obsession?
You don't like Pop-Tarts? The cinnamon ones are nice.
