The thing is, the NRA is a great lightning rod that distracts midwits from the effective organizations. Also, I am salty that NRA-tier boomer marketing is gradually infecting GOA/SAF/et al. So sick of "DUMBOCRATS ARE COMING YOUR YOUR GUNS NEXT THURSDAY!!!" shit written all over the goddamn envelopes.
 
God, I feel bad for Ian getting the Azov Battalion book cancelled right before the NPC firmware update.

It must sting to see all the people who REEed over the book now jizzing in their pants on twitter virtue signaling about supporting Ukraine.

Also the fact that the negative repercussions with regards to his Russian contacts would have likely inevitably happened due to the rising tensions between US/Russia RN.

He was just a little out of sync with the tides of time on this one. A little later, and he could have sold gangbusters, even to the virtue signaling lefties, lol.

Really makes me wonder how far in advance the narrative was planned. The Azov book really felt like it was part of the ongoing campaign designed to make Azov more sympathetic to the NPCs after it was shown they were literal neonazis, but the book company fucked up and released it right before the media told NPCs it was ok to rehabilitate them.

If it was coordinated, it wouldn't have been canceled, because the people doing the canceling are the people (allegedly) doing the coordination.

Just plain bad luck, I think.

Nah, Azov isn't going to be rehabilitated. The media won't tell the NPCs it's okay to like Nazis, they'll just completely ignore what the Azov Battalion has done (good or bad), and roll them in with the general exploits of the Ukrainian Army.

I think Headstamp was just trying to be topical since things were already heating up over there for a long time now. The timing was just coincidental, even if they had announced that book today the NPCs would still have screeched because Azov already had plenty of pictures associating them with Nazi symbols and paraphernalia, and the author isn't Ukrainian so he'd be ripe for a canceling for being a damn dirty Nazi. As @Blasterisk just said: bad luck.

Saw an article the other day, damned if I could find it now but it was a typical lib media rag, that was about Ukrainian civs being armed and trained and had a picture of someone from Azov training a group and the caption under the photo even acknowledged that was Azov. Made zero mention of their politics, just that they were training civilians.

I'm seeing redditors now cheering on Azov and lauding them for fighting hard (against civilians in the Donbass). The new programming has arrived and it's pro-"Nazi" and vehemently ethno-nationalist so long as it's about Slavs and not Western Europeans.
