My understanding of it is the old school /k/ is scattered across multiple discord servers now, and the 4chan /k/ all a bunch trannies and no guns.
Depends on how "old school" you want to get. Drake works with C&Rsenal and lives on their Discord channel, BOOF/Ivan disappeared for whatever reason - some said he got doxxx(xx)ed since everyone knew he worked in Minnesota and outed as a lolifag, Johnny Labs faked his death after shitposting a journey to acquire StG44s in Syria, Meplat ascended into heaven, that one wheelchair guy lives on Tumblr jerking it to faggots and trannies - not sure about the rest.

With how weaponized and partisan the IRS is, that's not as good an idea that you think it is.
Back then it made sense because they would rather get the money from a successful application than deny one, but now they would probably audit every wrongthink gun manufacturer's NFA declarations and drive them and FFLs into bankruptcy.

ATF had to ride a carefully-crafted narrative, woven by the professional activist circuit and Hollywood alike, that those who own guns are inherently evil and undeserving of due process or human dignity. It took decades of careful programming to plant that seed, culminating sometime in the 1980s.

IRS on the other hand, has greater legitimacy, even among the gun-owning populace, because we are taught that every good citizen pays his taxes. It's woven into our psyche. Everywhere you go when someone airs a grievance, they strenuously point out that they are a taxpayer. "Why must the honest taxpayer be subject to such idiocy?" We use our status as taxpayers to establish our legitimacy to one another, and so anyone in dutch with the IRS is obviously not one of us. This is why the concept of tax strikes is all but unheard of in modern anti-establishment activism (though imagine the state-sanctioned bloodshed if it were).

Thats why I said we need to return to those days and severely neuter their ability to make their own legislation.

Can someone tell me wtf is going on with /k/ right now? I've been away from the board for a couple years and the pro-uki circlejerk going on there is a bit confusing to me. Is it shitposting? Brigading? Counterjerking? Or is that actually the current state of /k/ posters now?
Honestly, it seems like it's gone back to 2014 posting where people seem to actually be discussing shit. The board just seems like they're talking about invasion shit and things related to the invasion.

I dunno if flares are going to get the job done.
The flammability of fursuits aside, the Manville guns were advertised as 'Gas Projectors'
They're clockspring revolvers, so you can launch a whole bunch of (large bore and very low pressure-) teargas shells in rapid succession. They were made in sizes like 25mm, 37mm, and 40mm, certainly they can launch flares, but that was never the main point, it was always for riot control.

I might be optimistic, as some fursuits will no doubt be filthy and crusty enough that the target barely notices the teargas, if at all.

EDIT: This is wrong, the later 37mm and 40mm ones are the Hawk MM-1, which are derived from the Manville. Apparently Manville proposed a 37mm grenade launcher during WW2 but got no interest, probably too ahead of its time.

Fucking page didn't update.

Didn't know that.

He probably left because /k/ got much less fun in recent years. Years back I heard he went on OperatorChan, but I have no idea if he still does.

Johnny Labs faked his death after shitposting a journey to acquire StG44s in Syria,
I forgot who that guy was.

Meplat ascended into heaven,
He went to OperatorChan MANY years ago. If you're meaning he's dead, that's new to me.

that one wheelchair guy lives on Tumblr jerking it to faggots and trannies - not sure about the rest.
If he's the dude I'm thinking of, he killed himself years ago.

The NFA was originally enforced by the IRS, we need to return to those days.
Holy shit, NO, go ride a bike without a seat.

Yes, exactly. Lot of fucking propagandizing about Ukraine going on in the media, but RUSSIA STRONK/CHINA STRONK autism has been beyond obnoxious for years on /k/, with autism lords like Armatard and the odd Wumao.
You can argue Ukraine isn't what the media says it is, but it also isn't what Putin says it is, and this is probably seen as an opportunity by many to take a fat shit on some of the board's bad posters, while also focusing strongly on a very high profile current war, which is /k/ by definition.

Besides, there's plenty of sentiment in strong support of things like Azov, so it isn't even leftoid bullshit.

Yep, I'm old enough to remember the clankening. I also notice the old fag tier discussion of Russian tanks, transport, and supplies. All of this seems like a throwback to it is all.

Didn't know that.
He's still really active, but the C&Rsenal community is filled a bunch of spergy kids and europeans so it's not for casual lurking.

After his tripcode was compromised everything had to be taken with a grain of salt. I think some anons suspected his business was being harassed but it's unsubstantiated.

I forgot who that guy was.
Chechen guy that had basement gunsmithing/DIY threads, taught people how to weld with a car battery and such. Also known as "The Salesman 2.0"

He just left OpChan in December.

If he's the dude I'm thinking of, he killed himself years ago.
Not that dude, this dude, whose name is "Todd," was part of the upsurge of unhelpful tripfags and after he posted his wheelchair it became his gimmick. Only reason I know is because of someone posted his shopped wheelchair and I followed the breadcrumbs - he and other useless trips are on tumblr, one guy trooned out and the others are unremarkable and boring.

How did C&Rsenal end up with that sort of fanbase? It can't be all just the guinea pig memes.

Let's be honest, the only way to truly wipe out the furry menace is with fire.

I propose a timeless classic.

You're talking about the wheelchair guy who goes by "coffeandspentbrass" and the one that trooned out is Mints?

C&Rsenal is like FW where they focus more on guns from a mechanical/historical stand point rather than practical use, and so nogunz eurotrash and autists can more easily identify with that content. Especially since both attempt to be as apolitical and academic as possible.

This isn't bashing either channel, I like their stuff, but like any historical focused content it attracts that sort of audience. The difference between something like C&R/FW and something like say HEMA for instance is that there is no modern day political significance that can be assigned to ancient history whereas firearms are still a modern topic.

This might be closer to a 1:1 correspondence than you think. HEMA attracts the same insane shitlibs and hipsters that accessible gun content does.

True but no one takes them seriously outside of that very small sphere since most people in that field (at least in my own personal interactions with them) realize that their field of study doesn't really matter or effect the modern world at large. Of course these are face to face interactions and not terminally online losers getting angry in youtube comments/videos.
