Continuing to do videos the way he has must have taken amazing will.

Its autistic as all fuck but thinking of the situation as this makes the pain subside a little.
He ain't dead yet boys. Lets all remember to appreciate the time we got, and the kith and kin we all share it with.

Pancreatic cancer is not a non-issue once it is symptomatic. Probably why he broke his hip (it can invade bones and weaken them or cause systematic osteoporosis). He just didn't want to dump his purse out on YT more than necessary. Continuing to do videos the way he has must have taken amazing will.
I looked it up and holy shit it is true. This paper also claims that it is fairly rare (I'd love to see the numbers for former military).

It was rare, the numbers of it have been going up and unlike other cancels (colon is really going up in frequency, but treatments are getting better) there's been little improvement on treatment for Pancreatic.

What about detection aside from 50 yr olds getting a colonoscopy? Apparently if a family member gets it, the genetic relatives should get colonoscopies every year.
I have it in my family, so that's going to be me sooner or later. I think insurance will cover it at 45 now if you have a family history. Colon seems to hit either hard and fast, like Chadwick Boseman and you're gone in a year, or can be fairly treatable. There are 2 types of Pancreatic, and neither are good at all. 6-9 months is pretty typical.

This is the second youtuber (after tb) I've watched that has gone through this. It's no less shitty watching it a second time.

TotalBiscuit was colon cancer I thought, not pancreatic?

Either way, another Youtuber I have watched for years falling ill and dying soon. UGH. TB hit me so hard.

FUCK CANCER

Yeah TB had ass cancer (as he called it). He ignored the pains and various signs until it was too late.
I think Apteryx meant it's the second youtuber he's watched that's being lost to cancer in general.

God fucking dammit, I just found his channel the other week. So it is true; the doctors have run out of ammo to keep the Grim Reaper at bay. My sincere condolences to a man now living on borrowed time.

I once saw a woman suffer an open fracture of the leg just from stepping down from a regular pickup. The ways that cancer fucks people over in the end stages feels limitless. And the new and emerging treatments, always a decade away (although there are some for a few cancers like lung).

However much longer Paul has, I hope he can get what is needed to be comfortable, assuming he doesn't decide to just cut the worst part short. I also hope he's channel is archived in some way, because it really is a wealth of educational information.

Ol hickok45 between his ads, fired a round and forgot to put in his ears, again.

that's a mistake you'll only make once! I did that with a .357 mag indoors (not really indoors but in a shed. it was raining so i was shooting through the open door at a steel plate nailed to a tree). it permanently screwed my hearing.

it wasn't how i thought it would be though. I didn't hear the shot at all. My ears immediately started ringing and it felt like i had water in my ears. took about a week for my hearing to return to "normal". periodically i'll go deaf in my right ear and get the ringing and that will last for an hour or two.

I had an ND like that once too, I didn't even think it happened until I noticed the smell. No ringing, didn't hear it really. It's not like what you'd expect when you don't see it coming. The ear got 'better' but it's still 'off'. I wish suppressors were easier to get, it's insane that the government wants you to get damage in a defense situation.

I think everyone that shoots a lot will have an ND or something like this happen at some point, just keep the rule where you always point in a safe direction in mind, and it isn't the end of the world. Still embarrassing and will do some damage though.

It's hard to keep watching his vids knowing this, damn it. Sure his brother could be good but it's not the same without him and HIS stories...
Going to have some watery eyes going pass the pop tart aisles.....

Let's hope Paul has time to teach his brother the fine art of chronograph autism and deadpan anecdote delivery. I'm sure Roy has had to make more than a few public presentations during his time as a LEO, and I'm sure he was nervous in that short little introduction he made, but his style needs some polishing.

Already raised a glass to Paul this weekend, and I have a special bottle here to be opened in his honor later on. Remember to celebrate the memory instead of mourning the loss, people.
