I agree with @ellroy. Nobody in the T. Rex saga is a trustworthy or likeable personality. Lucas is a socially awkward nerd who clearly has spent many years desperately wanting to be taken seriously. That's a pretty common personality trait for homeschooled kids. Unfortunately it lead to him pretending to be certain things that he's not, and claiming to have done things that he didn't do. He's a fast shooter, I'll give him that. He should have gotten into comp shooting instead of pretending to be some sort of tactical shooter who trains tier one guys.

The rest of the Botkin family seem like a bunch of dishonest weirdos, but that's par for the course when it comes to cults. The brothers gravely underestimated how important Lucas was to the financial health of the company, and a reconciliation seems less likely now than ever. Neither side is budging. Their legal battle will likely outlast the company. I'd be surprised if T. Rex exists in a form more substantial than just a bunch of paperwork and assets by the end of 2027.

I'm not bullish on Lucas' new ventures either. Adaptiv isn't doing anything interesting, and Lethal Corp is just another online retailer selling the same stuff a thousand other retailers sell. They're vanity projects. Maybe his clothing brand will launch and do well enough that he'll exit the firearms industry completely and in several years Lucas and his family will be a fading memory.

Ian took down his video on the FN Evolys and reposted it last night. I have no idea what the difference is and I'm not rewatching a half hour video to see what the 27 seconds added are but here's the original upload:

It probably got demonetized in some way, who knows, it's gun shit and we all know how youtube feels about gun shit.
He bitched about this on instagram and said his patreon and pepperbox subscribers don’t have this issue (hint hint). He of course will get sassy if you remind him alternatives exist and it doesn’t cost a thing to upload videos there beyond his time.

Sometimes guntubers are getting what they deserve for being lazy cattle on YouTube.

TL;DR: YouTube restricted his first video because he said that YouTube restricts full-auto content  So essentially, bots heard him say "full-auto" and determined the video has full-auto content, and restricted it.

Insanity

So I guess he changed his video to get around that.

You know what Website has hundreds of millions of largely English speaking users, the ability to upload long videos, A large firearms community, an algorithmic recommendation system AND has a mechanism to monetarily compensate creators for their content?

That’s because they don’t actually care about YouTube’s censorship, they’re just mad that YouTube takes a 50% cut of the ad revenue.

What all the people who became successful in the gun media space in the 2010s don’t understand is that it was as much luck and timing as it was them actually being good at anything. Lucas won’t be able to recreate T-Rex Arms at its height, and T-Rex Arms isn’t going to be able to recover in the slightest. Their best move is to focus on distributor level sales and probably start a new brand entirely making use of the same infrastructure.

He should have gotten into comp shooting instead of pretending to be some sort of tactical shooter who trains tier one guys.

I told him this directly in 2015. He was in town for a media event and came to visit my company. No one can argue with match results. And if you want to tactical LARP, there’s plenty of flavors of matches to do this at too.

X just isn't a video platform.
It's a clap-back app with videos on it.

I was excited when they said it would get proper video but it is still a mess.

X would be great for "suppressed creators" considering their monetization seems to be favorable, but their video player is so inconsistent. Sometimes you can watch a 90 minute video with no problem, other times you can't get a 20 second video to load.

Funny enough, I just got out of Scheels and I saw TREX branded holsters in their holster aisle, just the basic sig and glock OWB ragnarok holsters though which probably work for a multitude of other guns if you have the same light, along with the suppressor holsters.

Their monetization scheme is also a complete mess and is changing yet again. No sane content creator will bank on X. I don't follow Rumble drama other than sektur threads so I don't know why they arent making more inroads.

Same reason every other alternate video host isn't making any, it's really fucking hard and really fucking expensive to try and build a self sustaining ecosystem in a world where YT absolutely dominates to the degree it does.

It's because they subsidize with data collection.

From the very start of our series I have never considered myself a "YouTuber." Our slow release, long format, in depth material has always been incompatible. We are MUCH more akin to a PBS show but, of course, they would never have us.

Since we have to use YT we have had to adapt to its perverse incentive structure as much as we can. The results are mixed and inefficient. This effort on shorts and other hoop-jumping acts as a time and attention tax on the series as a whole. Extra, performative work just to tread enough water to sell the actual product.

This, nothing Lucas did at Trex arms was the best thing on the market it was just a one-stop-shop for younger shooters to get everything they need because there is so much tactical nylon out there and its overwhelming. It was a smart business decision to get people in with the holsters and they will get everything else from there due to familiarity. His new company (Adaptiv) isn't doing anything interesting and even his glazers like Brassfacts find his new products underwhelming.

I told him this directly in 2015. He was in town for a media event and came to visit my company. No one can argue with match results. And if you want to tactical LARP, there’s plenty of flavors of matches to do this at too.
As an example, Taran Butler is a fat fuck who can shoot quite well and got into training Hollywood actors at his ranch out in Ventura county. Because of his fame in training actors and being an accomplished competition shooter, he allegedly had some SEALs from a San Diego based team come up for training. Whether it was really for training or an excuse for SF guys to go up to Ventura to have fun shooting while groping gun bunnies is another matter but Taran accomplished something first to make himself noteworthy and got to create a business to ride off his success which potentially led to the elusive government contracts Lucas desires. Lucas put the cart in front of the horse and went the opposite direction and now no one beyond zoomers, Tripp, and Stoeger take him seriously.

Just remember, PSR tried bullying Botkin into doing Finnish Brutality and Botkin absolutely refused. Polenar Tactical's defended Lucas because the bullying offended his central European sensibilities but I don't think Varusteleka gave a shit because the company president was sharing PSR's videos challenging Lucas on Instagram.

The whole family is like that.

Ol' Geoff has something loose inside his skull, and he decided that his family was going to be the vanguard for a new Christian culture in the US.

The ethos is basically "The Botkin family is the best at everything we set out to do because we have THE TRVTH on our side."

There's also this idea that they shouldn't work for other people, so there's no, like, "People have done it this way for xxxxx years and I'm going to provide something that's 90% pro-tips and 10% special seasoning."

As an example:

For a while they were in with some like-minded people and that put them forward to an audience they would not have otherwise had.

But they've had a shitton of other grifts that did pretty well in their niche world but didn't really penetrate the mainstream.

If anything, Lucas is the most pragmatic of the family: atheists spend money on gun shit, too.

Look buddy, without the JewTube ad revenue how would small independent media producers that sell $100+ books and have 7500 paying Patreon members survive?

Citation needed, jeet bots are still 102% of Twitter's userbase.
