I know this isn't specifically guntube related but it's the best place I can think of to laugh briefly at Deviant Ollam where he acts like this dumb ass mask is at all worth using over a regular mask for anything but extra virtue signalling out in the world.

I don't get this guy, he's simultaneously Karl-tier retarded yet not actually stupid as far as I can tell.
Well even Karl knows a lot of stuff about things. That doesn’t make him any less grating to listen to.

A LITERAL CROWN FOR THE KING OF RETARDS!

He even had a tutorial on how to add a glory hole....

How are bugpeople this gullible?

I dunno man, after a while of having my own breath blown onto my face by regular masks I might get desperate for something else. I mean, I'd look like a tool, but everything has a price, right?

$1700 rifle. Ouch.

The fact that they took a forging with a forward assist, milled it flat and stuck their logo on it makes it look even more like a parts bin gun.

You could use that charging handle lever to catch the 3 wire on a Nimitz class carrier with how far it sticks out.
The price tag is funny because most of it is spent trying to make a $99 poly lower not ruin the balance by putting it on.

You'd think AR nuts would just build their own if they wanted one, though. Otherwise a normal video, I think.

Yeah that seems a bit lame. Is producing slick side uppers really that big of a problem? If you have to mill the FA off, you might as well just leave it on. And if the end user doesn’t want to use it, than they don’t have to.

If I'm paying 1700 you bet I'd want a slickside upper. Especially after hours of content saying the FA was pointless and not necessary. The FA was literally ALREADY THERE on the forging they used and all they had to do was drill two holes to include it. Milling the flat probably takes more machine time.

All I'm saying someone who cared more would have tried to hide it better. You've already got it fixtured. Was a flat all you could think of? From someone who machines, a flat like that comes off as lazy. A few extra hours programming in CAM could have hidden it better.

Karl and Phagan like to mention the monumental and expensive task it was to create a "firearm". But let's be real, the product is a polymer lower. A lower with a kit bash of parts. The only reason you can call it innovation is because no other company cared enough to make one. Had there not been an autist army of YouTube fans behind the project I guarantee it would have gone mostly unnoticed. Just look at Calvary Arms...

Phagan said they have sold 14,000 of them on the subreddit. For sure they can't complain about the initial investment of making an injection mold anymore. The steel they used to build the mold, unfortunately means we will probably see another quarter to half a million WWSD lowers out there before we die.

The 2017 version used a normal-ass slickside upper. They are 100% doing this to cut costs and increase profit margins. See? This is what they used last time.

Playing Devil's advocate here, maybe Aero Precision couldn't provide them the quantity they needed. But probably not. This was KE going "let's just do it ourselves!" and cheaping out.
My original plan was to wait for them to sell just the upper, buy that, and slap it on a (normal, forged) lower I already have lying around but honestly, fuck that terrible, gaudy-ass milled-out FA forging. I'll gladly pay more to buy a lightweight upper from some other company that doesn't look like garbage.

That's already a thing it's called the Faxon Ion.

Yes, the company that made the WWSD barrel and handguard makes their own super light weight AR.
