This is probably a cope, but I still think yeetman isn't getting a great reaction at Mania. It's the one WWE show that still is smark heavy, so I am hoping a live crowd finally craps on this shitter.

I unironically want Gunther to beat him in 18-seconds like they did with Danielson/Sheamus.

It's definitely a cope lol. The whole stadium is going to be YEETing. I don't want Jey to win the title, either, there were better options available and I don't like the fact that Gunther has been shoehorned into the "bad guy to beat at Mania" role. The only thing that would get the crowd to turn against Jey is if the match sucks, and everybody knows that would be Jey's fault because Gunther has been so consistent.

So, for the non wrestling/casual fans out there scrolling this thread, WrestleMania weekend is independent wrestling heaven. GCW is running "The Collective" to help a lot of the larger indies/Japan promotions like DDT, TJPW, etc, as well as run their local events/Janela's and Barnett's events.

That's why you see Kidd Bandit, or any indie wrestler that isn't signed by WWE or AEW taking 2-3+ matches and 3-4 appearances through merch signings, autographs, etc in 4 days, with some people getting 6+ matches in the same span (I think a lot of joshi's and WWE ID people are doing that, payments are really good this weekend so maximize value and get tape out there).

If you want to watch anything GOOD, I know both BloodSport was really great if you like MMA (Josh barnett's thing, think fake MMA but with a pro wrestling style) and tonight, Joey Janela’s Spring Break 9 at 10 pm est is pretty decent. If your willing to stay up till 3 am EST, Heels Have Eyes, WestSide Gunns promotion is pretty good as well. and then if you want LolCow's galore, Effy's Big Gay Brunch is on at 2 PM est Saturday.

Also, apparently Joey is doing 2 nights of his spring break show? might be good. otherwise, NXT Stand and Deliver starts at 12 EST, then Countdown starts at 4 pm, then Night 1 starts at 7 pm.

Bloodsport is really cool now because it's the only place you can see WWE wrestlers with people they'd never be in the ring with in any other circumstance. I haven't watched it yet but I'll be checking it out for sure.

yeah if you're not into the greater wrassle scene it's hard to get exactly how batshit the things that happen over a Mania weekend can get as far as talent from around the globe working matches together from many generations
like one year I recall... forget if it was three way or a trios, but the focus was the "guys who spit mist" theme of Penta (he spit mist at this point sometimes), Tajiri, and Great Muta
or the time Kaiju Big Battel did a crossover show with... I think it was DDT? one of the similarly goofy Japanese promotions
normally the idea that you could get a roster from either company across the pacific, book a venue, and sell tickets to two VERY niche companies doing a crossover would be beyond stupid
but, because it's mania weekend, there's basically everybody and a huge crowd going nuts for it

Some threads ago after the Dark Side episode on Vader, some folks were taking Vader to task for how he stiffed and bullied other wrestlers. Should we do the same for Bruiser Brody? I am sorry for what happened and resent Invader 1 for what he did especially the bullshit trial but there is no denying Brody himself overstepped what he was supposed to do and went out of his way to bully others, just listen to what Harley Race said:

Working territories guys would have to look after themselves so I can't really fault them or condemn that sort of shit. Not really an issue anymore given how commodified pro wrestling has become.

Saw some of the ZSJ/Gresham match from Bloodsport and I thought it was kind of the drizzling shits. For something that's supposed to look like a worked shoot, strikes were awfully soft looking. UWF-i and Battlarts this is not.

I think ZSJ is kind of overrated in the first place. I appreciate the variance of holds but what's always bothered me about his work is how quick he transitions to other holds. I just wish he would work on holds a little longer before switching to another, really sell that you're actually working a joint instead of showing off how cool your moves are.

Probably should have known better than to start shit in Puerto Rico when it had a notorious reputation and was considered the most dangerous place to wrestle due to the violence. The fans brought knives and regularly tried to stab wrestlers, and in return the wrestlers brought knives to defend themselves. Bruiser obviously didn't deserve to be murdered, but he never knew how to tone it down and it's no surprise that he did get stabbed.
