German game developer Mimimi shutting down - Another victim of the "negress on cover" curse

Do you even want gingers like that in a game? She's a fricking hambeast that looks like a corpse.
I figured that was the point since it's supposed to be a spooky themed game and wanting to fucm a corpse is weird. In fact, even the black lady on the cover makes sense since it's a pirate game and pirates were at least anecdotally very diverse in terms of racial and ethnic makeup. Idk why some people are so obsessed with blacks to the point of blaming the failure of a company that make extremely niche games which often didn't sell just based off of that factor to negroes. It's a really unhealthy way to think about the world.

Good job boys Racism, as always, wins again

Is it even a replacement? She's standing right next to the black captain lady in the OP picture.

Desperados III is very good.

That said, it has a voodoo queen in it so you might get your knickers twisted over that. I found her character a little annoying because she seemed to be kind of the "heart" of the gang, which isn't very fitting for a voodoo queen. Not that you have to play to stereotypes, but a literal witch doing curses is not going to be a good person.
One of the character, marshal Wayne, I think he's also black. Considering his character model skin colour is dark comparing to most others. Meanwhile, his face art is more ambiguous.

Kinda hard to see, but he's in yellow coat. Just youtube desperados 3 mission 10, 12 and 16

@Hammr2 Marshal Wayne is Black. And it's historically accurate, too. The US had tons of Black Marshals, mostly deployed in Indian Territory (which killed more Marshals than all other states combined). They often were former slaves (or descendants of slaves of) the Civilized Tribes and so had expertise in the Indian languages without any loyalty to them. Bass Reeves was a particularly famous Black Marshal.

It doesn't bother me at all. I thought Isabel being the heart was kind of lame and stereotypical for the Black character but I was interested in knowing how the marshal and the voodoo queen came to be partners/implied lovers. I got to thinking, that'd be a really cool plot for a novel. Someone wrote one called Ned Christie's War that I think had to do with Cherokee outlaw Ned Christie and a shaman's interactions with each other.

I felt like it should have reversed McCoy and Isabel's characterization. McCoy is the doctor and is the gruff mercenary figure, Isabel is the bleeding heart, and the two grate on each other. The story makes it out like McCoy's a bad guy for running off later in the plot even though he doesn't owe these people anything, and then of course he comes back at the end due to the Power of Friendship or some faggotry. I'd have liked Isabel being played off more like Marie Laveau is in a lot of media.

Did anyone actually play Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew? Probably not considering they're shutting down. Played the demo of it during one of Steam's whatever fests and it seemed fun, Shadow Tactics and Desperados 3 were fun too. Shame to see the last company making a specific genre well go under.

genre still lives on. there was another commandos clone a while back, think it was made by some slavs: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1101790/War_Mongrels/

think the problem was simply making games too big/expensive for the niche they were catering to.

And seemingly little-to-no marketing, even for an indie game. I enjoyed their previous titles, but didn't even know that this game was coming out/had released until this thread.

I am enjoying the new pirate game and it's a shame they shut down. The best character is Sir. Reginald
