‘Get Out’ Has Been Named The Greatest Screenplay Of The 21st Century

There Will be Blood and No Country for Old Men are the only movies worth considering for a list like this. But let's be real: this list was only made to stir the pot and promote a black person because they're black.
And why bridesmaids was so high up even though they said they improved much of the movie

When I see things like this, I assume the judges actually read the screenplays and evaluated them as screenplays, not as finished films. So "best screenplay" means the identing is all correct, the descriptions are succinct but visual, and the plot points happen on the pages Syd Field says should have plot points. They probably give points for being structurally interesting too, e.g. Memento.

Don't write off Get Out as a horror film in and of itself.

The premise itself is quite interesting. Black people are used for morality (or servants) through luring by a posh, White family. How you interpret the themes is up to you, although I can see how the underlying theme of racism is forced.

That premise gets confusing of WHY they want Black people.
I thought the twist with the daughter was hilarious.
Oh, I saw that coming.

I vaguely remember that movie. I remember not really getting what the big deal about it was. It was ok. Not very great, not the worst movie ever. I remember thinking something was screwy with the editing or something though. There were plot points that were brought up but never mentioned again. It felt like there were parts of the movie missing.

The target audience was for Black people hesitant of White people.

Again, I get the social commentary but some aspects of it fall flat or get lost in context to the horror genre.

Memento was good. It was also from 2000, meaning it was a 20th century movie.

Tards can't figure out a calendar, and we're supposed to listen to them about movies? Lol no.
What century was the year 0 in then?

Fake edit: Just realized that there never was a year 0. They started with year 1 like LUA >:(

The movie was just okay but it sure gave Peele an ego.
I remember laughing more than getting scared though, I swear the scene of the black guy running at the main character was ripped off from the Hero Yoshihiko.

A lot of the movies on that list are downright horrible. Aaron Sorkin deserves to be in prison for Moneyball. It's Brad Pitt and a fat guy sitting around talking about math and baseball. Nobody wants to watch or read that shit. Hollywood makes these lists to get people to want to rent and buy the movies; none of the movies actually deserve to be on the lists.

It was a goofy slightly sorta B horror movie kinda deal but also a freaky ass concept involving manmade horrors beyond comprehension such as "lobotomizing people to put your own brain in them to take their place" Not the best thing ever but not the worst. There's another movie that did a similar concept but played off a lot more seriously and a lot more mysticism based than freaky manmade horrors based. It's called the skeleton key and
it's black people doing the bodyjacking instead of white people.

I mean it is one of those "horror comedy" kinda movies so thats probably intentional Not the ripoff thing but the wacky shit. Like you think the guys gonna do something fucking menacing but he's just intensely running around like a fucking dumbass.

I hate that shit like this is even newsworthy. An organization had a shit opinion, holy fucking shit.

I'm calling The Room the best thing ever made in all of creation. Write an article on that and then choke on it faggot.
The Room wasn't made by a race baiter who is married to the daughter of a big jewish producer.

As someone who really likes that movie, I'm curious. What do you hate about it?
Honestly, it’s been so long since I watched it that I couldn’t actually tell you anymore. I just remember it as being a long shaggy dog story and feeling super pissed about the ending.

in fairness calling it shit is probably too harsh, I think the years have just amplified my annoyance with the ending.

Realizing that it’s by the same guy who made Synechdoche New York makes a lot of sense, actually.

I liked the first part of Get Out, but I feel like it went from super interesting to over the top and ridiculous pretty quickly at the end. I'm not a horror fan -- so maybe I was a little biased against it to begin with. Even though I'm kind of wimpy about horror, I really didn't find it to be that scary.

I do think it was made primarily for black audiences because the dumb shit at the end is perfect for them to yell and scream at the screen WHICH THEY DO whenever they go to the movies, apparently. That's one reason I avoided seeing black movies in theaters. I can't help having white people socialization and it irritates the hell out of me when they do that.

I do believe the conspiracy theory that it was actually a fictionalized story about Kanye West, though. Wonder who is stirring that spoon for him now. Okay, not really -- but it is a funny conspiracy theory.
